    WR Javon Tracy Commits

From Ryan Burns' writeup, linked in his post: 2024 was a breakout season for Tracy as he went from catching 22 passes for 348 yards and two touchdowns as a redshirt freshman in 2023 to elevating himself into one of the best receivers in the Mid-American Conference and earning a first-team...

Zach Pyron or Drake Lindsey, who will be the Gophers' QB1 in 2025?

It's a bonus for the Gophers that we now have a QB on the roster who has a bit more experience, and has even made some starts against quality competition. Ryan Burns says the staff loves Lindsey's potential, but adding Pyron is a very nice hedge. Plus, we need a viable #2 in case of injury.

Official 2025 Roster Movement Thread - Who's In and Who's Out?

I found this, via my patented, famous (and exhaustive) 5 minutes of online research method. He scores 4 TDs, including a pass reception score. Speed plus tackle-breaking ability. I'm excited about this addition:

Zach Pyron or Drake Lindsey, who will be the Gophers' QB1 in 2025?

It's that all-time favorite sports talk topic: The QB controversy!!!!! If only Fleck had a clue, he'd pick the right one!

Georgia Tech QB Zach Pyron Transfers to Minnesota

Well, Jesus... if they don't know if he throws a tight spiral why the HELL did they offer him a spot on the team?!? INCOMPETENCE!

    Cody Lindenberg

It's probably not as easy a decision for Cody as it is for Aireontae Ersery. Cody's a linebacker, and he has a history of injury. Aireontae is an offensive tackle and he's been on the NFL radar almost from the beginning. Where would you guess each of them would be drafted? I'd say Ersery will...

Arm talent. A Big Arm. Whatever.

Georgia Tech QB Zach Pyron Transfers to Minnesota

Of course, the biggest question of all is (drum roll)... Does he have... ... a Big Arm... to throw The Deep Ball? It's really all that matters!

    Cody Lindenberg

How does a player like Cody evaluate his chances in the next NFL draft? Does he rely on, say, an agent to gather intelligence? Predicting the NFL draft is always a bit of a guessing game.

Georgia Tech QB Zach Pyron Transfers to Minnesota

After a long and very thorough 5 minute search on YouTube, I found these two videos: one vs. (ironically) Virginia Tech, the other vs. Notre Dame. He makes some nice throws, and appears to have some running ability. Announcers comment favorably on his competitive nature. I like him.

    Has Minnesota Surpassed Wisconsin?

You're right. Any of those timeframes would be an interesting comparison. If you're asking me to pick a timeframe, I'd say that it's mostly about the Fleck era. He's been Minnesota's coach of record for 8 seasons now, and will probably be the Gopher coach for the foreseeable future. Since...

    Has Minnesota Surpassed Wisconsin?

So is it total number of fans in the stands, then, rather than consecutive sellouts? If so, I guess our football program is... what? 'Permanently handicapped', perhaps, by the smaller seating capacity of our stadium? So many ways to determine the trajectory of a football program. Confusing...

    Has Minnesota Surpassed Wisconsin?

So — to take your line of reasoning a bit farther — would you therefore rate Nebraska as one of the best football programs in the B1G? They have had a boatload of consecutive sellout crowds after all.

    IA/NE

I'm not sure if you're saying Iowa's offense is improved, or claiming they are actually fairly good. Their running game is based on the sheer excellence and talent of one single stud player, not on any coaching philosophy or schematic improvement. Their new offensive coordinator isn't exactly...
