Which of these looks from Minnesota last season was your favorite?

I liked the throwback WMW look Vs. Maryland, though the way the Gophers played that day probably had a lot to do with that as well. All gold and GMG were awesome as well. One surprise was not seeing the MMG combo this season.

10 best coaches in Big Ten men's basketball history

I figure other contenders behind those 10 would be Thad Matta, Ohio State, NCAA Runner-Up, 2 Final Fours, 3 Elite Eights, 1 NIT title, 5 Big Ten titles, 4 Big Ten Tourney titles John Beilein, Michigan, 2 NCAA Runner-Ups, 2 Final Fours, 3 Elite Eights, 2 Big Ten titles, 2 Big Ten Tourney Titles...

So, the NSIC has one week left in the regular season and the conference race has been absolutely nuts. Here's where things stand with one weekend left. Minnesota teams in bold. Five teams are tied for first, and two for second. Concordia-St. Paul, 19-7 (14-6) Minnesota State-Mankato, 19-7...

    The ball is the program

One of the best things about Max was how he worked through progressions and scanned the field before making a decision. Knowing when and when not to throw is big for a quarterback and it helped limit interceptions.

Daniel Jackson invited to NFL combine

Yeah I feel like he could work in a way similar to what Jarius Wright was for the Vikings. Not one of the top receivers on the team but a reliable, hard working option who can pick up a first down by running a good route.

Reusse: Unlike the Gophers’ coaching situation, the solution for Williams Arena is simple: Blow up The Barn

The held punches against Johnson is insane. Mentioned it before but it's unreal the difference in treatment for Johnson compared to other Gopher coaches. As for the Barn, I think it's more of a reasonable point of discussion. I love historic college buildings, but if the aesthetic could be kept...

Re-ranking the tenures of FBS head coaches from 1-to-134: 2025 edition (Fleck: 17th longest tenure in FBS out of 134 coaches)

I know he inherited something good from Urban Meyer but Kyle Wittingham has done some really impressive work at Utah.

The Midwest is the new home of college football national champions

Yep, here's a list of all the champions. The Division I NJCAA national champions were from the Midwest too, Hutchinson Community College in Kansas. The Division III NJCAA champions were also from the Midwest, College of DuPage in Illinois. PLUS, the Ohio State CLUB football team even won the...

Souhan: The problems with the men’s program began with disgraced athletic director Norwood Teague.

I feel like Souhan is leaving out some details regarding the firing of Smith. When looking at the second half of that season, it makes sense. That was supposed to be one of Tubby's better teams, with the Hollins duo, Mbakwe and Williams out there. However, they had some awful losses. They could...

Your favorite loss in the Bank

I was up at a cabin in Kabetogama watching it and couldn't believe how much South Dakota's offense was just shredding the defense. That South Dakota team finished 4-7 overall, compared to the 2007 and 2011 NDSU teams which ended at 10-1 and 14-1. They certainly weren't a great FCS team like...

Your favorite loss in the Bank

Not just out coached, that Northern Illinois team was flat out more physical. Their power running game pushed us around. Hard to say "favorite," but as others have said, I'd pick 2014 Vs. Ohio State, falling 31-24. Buckeyes went on to win the national championship in convincing fashion against...

Will the Gophers ever win another Big Ten title?

This is a hell of a necro thread. Anyways I hate to say it but it's probably unlikely. The best chance was during the era of split conference titles when it was based on league wins. Now it's a matter of getting to the title game and then pulling off an upset against what's usually a Top 5...

Greg Eslinger inducted into CFB Hall of Fame.

Nice, that's awesome! He was a four year starter and with him on the line the offense rushed for 2,727 yards and 22 TDs in 2002 3,759 yards and 46 TDs in 2003 3,082 yards and 29 TDs in 2004 3,277 yards and 34 TDs in 2005

Marcus: What if struggling Gophers men’s basketball hadn’t lost key players because of NIL?

Yep, even coaches not in this position. Look at how Twin Cities media treated Jerry Kill, PJ Fleck and Richard Pitino, Vs. Ben Johnson, it's night and day.

Charlotte's Mayo bowl game suffered the smallest turnout in its 23-year history on Jan. 3.

The mentions about Virginia Tech fans being apathetic regarding the bowl is probably accurate, too. I checked out some of the VT communities online and there was basically no excitement.
