Gophers ‘absolutely’ will seek a quarterback in NCAA transfer portal

A couple of FCS guys to keep an eye on: 1. SDSU QB Mark Gronowski. After exploring the draft (he never entered the portal but there was reliable info that he was going to grad transfer to Northwestern) following the 2023 season, Gronowski elected to return to SDSU. He has said this year is...

Does Fleck get asked to interview for other coaching openings ?

You are right. I've seen the error of my ways. The Big 10 West was superior to the Big 11. I should have recognized that with the very many Big 10 champions that emanated therefrom and the CFP contenders it annually produced. Wisconsin, Iowa, Nebraska, Purdue, Illinois and Northwestern were...

Gophers ‘absolutely’ will seek a quarterback in NCAA transfer portal

I would hope they are looking for a starter. If you can find a guy like Brosmer or better in the portal who would choose Minnesota, I wouldn't worry about a guy with fewer career passes than fingers on one hand. I hope Lindsey pans out here but we shouldn't be afraid of offending and losing...

Does Fleck get asked to interview for other coaching openings ?

While avoiding yearly matchups with the best teams in the conference. You think playing round robin in the west compares to annual games with Mich, OSU, PSU, Mich St?

Does Fleck get asked to interview for other coaching openings ?

Sorry, make it two pushovers and one mediocre team (NC and Colorado haven't exactly gone on to beat the world the seasons we've played them). Plus Mase didn't have the benefit of the lowly Big 10 west.

    Has Minnesota Surpassed Wisconsin?

I suppose you could say that. Another view is that Wisconsin has fallen way back. Sure, I guess a slight improvement to our program and drastic decline in their program means we've passed Wisconsin. But if Wisconsin had stayed static, then no. As recently as the Bielema regime, Wisconsin...

Does Fleck get asked to interview for other coaching openings ?

Push overs? Sure, Fleck is willing to schedule a mediocre OOC opponent but he's still playing the same 3 guarantees that Mason had. And Mase never had the luxury of playing in the Big 10 West.

Wisconsin's issues have nothing to do with anything fleck has done or has not done.

A forecast of Gophers football’s biggest needs once transfer portal opens

Lots of FCS QBs put up big numbers on bad teams. Brosmer could have been a bust. He was decent. But it's more likely the freshman is a bust than a guy who has played a few seasons of DI football already and at least excelled in the box score.

Does Fleck get asked to interview for other coaching openings ?

His name will get mentioned for other jobs but those mentions will be driven by his agent, not potential schools. I agree that his schtick is an impediment. An AD might be able to look past it if he'd had a few more 2019s but not when the norm is what it is. He gets laid a lot of money and...

Except they'll have had a bad loss OOC along with squeaking by in a guarantee A better gauge would be salary as a percentage of FB budget. My guess is that Riley, Fickell and Smith are no more overpaid by that matric. Overall athletic budget might be a metric too. Fleck might cost the U...

    Clark to Missouri State

He's been pretty good on a pretty bad MoSt team (ala Brosmer). Last year he was dealing with injuries but IRC put up his numbers 2 years ago. But I agree, since of these guys aren't FBS QBs and need time to develop and that development isn't going to happen at a B1G school.

    Clark to Missouri State

A better decision would have been to transfer to a good FCS program. I believe he has one more year of eligibility. Will he stay at MoSt for their inaugural C-USA run?
