PP: Can freshman sensation Koi Perich also play offense?

Exactly what I was thinking. The kid is electric and he needs to play.

    Brosmer

I personally think Brosmer is the best QB we've had since Weber. I wish we had him another year or two. Hopefully young Drake is taking notes.

Let's wish him the best ... until he plays the Gophers

STrib: Jack Henderson is the Gophers’ big-play machine with a big, Cajun personality to match

Poor man's Hitman Harry. Damn big safety and versatile/talented kid.

Gopher Defense led by Hetherman Getting it DONE - Currently 5th in the NATION

All the analysis and rankings won't make a lick of difference come kickoff time. I'm thinking it will be a very close game with Minnesota coming out on top (partly) because of the home advantage. Kick some pig sticker a$$ Gophers!

Would Minnesota’s offense get shut out by Minnesota’s defense?

Nope. The offense would score but most of the points would be FGs.

Corey Hetherman is hitting his stride as Gophers defensive coordinator

Love the attacking vs semi-prevent style. Fleck uncovered a gem with this guy. I'm guessing that the best is yet to come as he develops some of the great young talent.

Predict the Score Thread - Floyd of Rosedale on the Line!!! MINNESOTA vs Iowa

73-0 Gophers win big. Brosmer throws 7 TD passes and The running game rushes for well over 200 yards. Koi Perich will come off the bench for 2 pick-6s and Maverick will cause a forced fumble and run it into the endzone. Iowa will complain after the game that the refs threw the game.

Minnesota Vs. Iowa 2024 Media Predictions

Minnesota will sneak up on them with a strong D and a surprisingly good O. Just enough to make it 2 in a row past the pig stickers.

    Mo comes home!

Blake Cashman when he's done winning 3-4 SBs with the Vikes

"Koi Perich is a Star in the Making"

Perich is an electric football player ... I could easily see him playing both sides of the ball on a limited basis. If he stays healthy he has a chance to be an all time Gopher great.

Max Brosmer vowing to be more efficient after disappointing debut

He will probably need a game or two to fully assimilate the system. When you are still learning, processing takes more time. Hopefully he's a very quick learner.

    Dual thread QB

Yes. He put up big numbers early on and was destined for big things until the coaching staff "revolving door" killed his opportunity. Very sad.

    GopherHolers: A Fleck temperature check

I agree with this. It's soooo predictable with little or no hope for even a whiff of elite status. It feels like the program trajectory is nosing downward a couple degrees. I'm hoping, short of a big turn-around, we look in another direction and let PJ go to "greener pastures".

    The inability to throw downfield

Coaching deficiency? I find it hard to believe these young guys just lack the talent necessary to succeed. Most of them are 3 or 4 star recruits ... they may not be world beaters but can't they learn to run routes and catch footballs? I'm beginning to view the Fleck approach to offensive...

    I’ve never been more optimistic

It's way too early to give up hope. The Gophers will learn from this loss and be much better next week. I'm still cautiously optimistic.
  17. S

    This is spot on.

This. It's as if he doesn't trust his offensive players to make plays. The old 3 yards and a cloud of dust, play solid defense and have a trustworthy kicking game. If any of the legs of the 3 legged stool collapse, the Gophers are screwed. Last night was a case in point.

Uniforms for opening night on National TV?

All maroon with gold trim is a very good look for the home team.

Big Ten QB Rankings: Brosmer #13

After the first 3-4 QBs, it's all speculation at this point. Brosmer has a good offensive line and skill players so I'm thinking he's well positioned to be in the top half by season's end.
