Big Ten Coaches Talk Anonymously About Conference Foes for 2025 ("if they win nine games or so, he’ll be on the hunt to move.”)

I disagree. The people coming up with the $10M in NIL for these types of QBs...they are paying them to win football games, period. Not to wave goodbye to a female hockey team or to go volunteer in the community. If I was ponying up the money for that QB, I'd be pissed if he was out...

Big Ten Coaches Talk Anonymously About Conference Foes for 2025 ("if they win nine games or so, he’ll be on the hunt to move.”)

I don't think it'll work on bigger stages. Do you think these top QBs asking for at least a mil per season are gonna put up with his schtick? High-end 3 stars and a few 4 stars will, and that's what he's doing it with at MN. I guess I'd say, "good luck" at getting that $10M michigan QB or...

    Seeding Changed for Upcoming Season

Thanks for the clarification, especially the bolded. Hard to defend that one, maybe the only possible *reasoning* would be Travis was the star of the team whereas Beck was just an average player among lots of NFL talent. But still, the optics look bad.

    Seeding Changed for Upcoming Season

I could get behind this, except for what @Panthadad2 had said - the conferences aren't close enough in talent. Boise State probably would be a 7-8 win team in the B1G yet they get a first round bye?

    Seeding Changed for Upcoming Season

Nah, I think it's more that people don't wanna watch teams like Boise St. cruise to a first round bye every year while SEC and B1G teams have to bust their asses to win their conference. Plus, even the ACC commissioner said it's better for the sport, even though it's not better for the ACC. It...

    Seeding Changed for Upcoming Season

Wasn't Georgia the two seed anyways? As for the other bolded, interesting you bring that up, since most on here did not agree with Florida State being left out 2 years ago when Jordan Travis went down. I can't recall where you stood on that, but most of the board felt like FSU should have...

2025 college football coach rankings: Deion Sanders, Bill Belichick headline Power Four coaches ranked 68-26, Fleck #27

I'm with you. They mention, "what he's built at Minnesota" and they offer his career winning percentage at MN - so I'd say they are looking at more than just 2024. Also agree on the losses you mentioned. I might add 2019 Iowa, as if we win that we win the west and Fleck would look better, and...

I'd prefer if they were more like the original Bash Brothers, McGwire and Canseco.

Big Ten QB Power Rankings: Post-spring tiers for every B1G QB room (Very worrisome: Minnesota (Drake Lindsey))

Really? Not the least bit over-the-top are ya? First off, it's just one season. If he blows it like AK did, well, last year showed what the recovery looks like. It didn't set us back to some difficult to overcome scenario. Secondly, do you have any better ideas? Recruit portal QBs almost...

Big Ten QB Power Rankings: Post-spring tiers for every B1G QB room (Very worrisome: Minnesota (Drake Lindsey))

I think this is the crux of it - they no longer do. 30 years ago we'd be relying on tidbits from Sid Hartman to get an idea of what's going on, etc. Now we fans can discuss with each other, share info, etc. and the players can post things directly and it gets relayed on message boards all...

Big Ten QB Power Rankings: Post-spring tiers for every B1G QB room (Very worrisome: Minnesota (Drake Lindsey))

I think the real reality is that unless you are a true fan of a school, it's damn near impossible to glean anything about the roster next year, regardless of how much casual perusing on the internet that you do. People on this board became aware of Lindsey after he committed in place of the...

Bielema Extended By Illinois - Will Be Around For Add’l 6 Years

If your team is in that situation (where a bunch of transfers following a coach from a lover level are instant upgrades) then you're team is probably at such a bottom that anything will be an improvement.

A 16-team College Football Playoff wouldn't be catastrophic, it would fix things

Yeah, the initial playoff of 4 teams was supposed to "fix things"...until it didn't. Then everyone wanted more...to solve the same damn problem. And now it gets talked about again...sigh. I guess this is what happens when 10,000 times more people want to go into sports writing than there are...

Haven’t been rated this high for awhile

Plus he listed them in terms of years since high school, so the list can look funny if you're not aware that the best of the 4 (right now) is Lindsey, even though he appears after Max, who will probably never take a snap.

I haven't seen Perich in any local ads, nor making any appearances. The Baldy's BBQ stuff is small potatoes, and on top of that, I'm sure the out-of-state kids got the same from the event.

Apparently you can go home again - "Scott Frost reportedly receives 5-year, $22.1 million deal to return to UCF"

True, but the counter to that is he now will have legit P4 recruits in his own backyard vs. trying to get anyone with a pulse to want to go to Lincoln Nebraska. I'd love to see him succeed there while Nebby wallows in 5 or 6 win seasons.

CFN: Minnesota Football Preview 2025: Can PJ Fleck Take Gophers Higher? (It’s the 9th year of the Fleck era. Is there something more than this?)

I'd disagree. When I see the games, I don't see Ferentz outcoaching Fleck. Instead I see either close, competitive games (like Mo going for 200+ but them getting that late INT, or the invalid fair catch signal, etc.) or beatdowns due to a huge talent gap on the lines (2020 for example)...

CFN: Minnesota Football Preview 2025: Can PJ Fleck Take Gophers Higher? (It’s the 9th year of the Fleck era. Is there something more than this?)

Pretty weak analysis if you ask me. The implication is that running more would have led to success, but anyone who watched the Michigan game knows that we wouldn't have done squat trying to run. Instead, we passed like a modern offense and almost won the damn thing! Several notches??? Did...
