Cade Tyson one of twelve plaintiffs suing NCAA

Seems to have a case as he is part of the class that is in between two classes that had a fifth year, kinda surprised the NCAA didn't grandfather guys like him in to avoid a lawsuit in the first place. Would love to have him back but I'm guessing he will get an insane NIL deal elsewhere if he is deemed eligible or get an injunction, which may be the best scenario for all parties

Covered himself by putting name in the portal.

If he's allowed to play, it would be a shocker if he stays at Minnesota.
Hopefully he's not in the big ten, would love it he went to play for Will the gangster Wades semi pro team, would have loved it more if he was at NC State, so he could stick it to the heels

How many teams are sitting around with a guaranteed starting spot and a huge bag of unspent NIL $$ though?

Probably a lot more teams than we know.

Exactly, "hey mr.bigtimedonor, we have a 20ppg from the big10 that needs some money to play for us" "ya okay here's $3million+"

Think Indiana, Louisville, BYU, Kentucky, Ohio State, Michigan, Kansas, would be ironic to see him back in the ACC

He’s definitely be a great addition, but I am betting he’s out of gophers budget as most of you have said.
Entering the portal prior to the lawsuit kind of indicates he's looking for a big paycheck. I am confused about the portal though. I always thought that when you graduate with eligibility you can look for a new team at any point or did the new portal rules change that.

I think he had to enter the portal to have any chance to continue playing...the juco guys...the injured guys...the 5 year guys...all these guys do...it must be attorney advised.
I don't think he'll be a Gopher but it seems 100% he'll play college basketball this season. I don't believe we planned for this possibility.

So Cincinnati got a little better... it seems Cade could already play in Ohio?

"On Thursday, a judge in Ohio granted a preliminary injunction to allow players in similar positions to Tyson — members of the 2022 high school graduating class who played four years in college and didn’t receive a fifth year of eligibility — to participate in a fifth season in 2026-27. Two of the athletes are former Utah State basketball players, MJ Collins and Kolby King, who are now planning to join the Cincinnati Bearcats."
Xavier is in Ohio... :)

Not surprised to see Tyson connected to this given that he wasn't drafted. Makes sense to try and get another year with the NCAA's new policy that went into effect. Would think there is a great chance they win the case as well.

As for Cade's future if he gets anther year.....agree with those that think he will get a huge payday from someone else and will end up there but you never know. Niko took a chance on him and it paid off in a huge way for Cade.....if he came back here he would be the go to guy again with a more dynamic team around him. Would be a great on the court situation for him, but like most, I assume we wouldn't be in a position to offer the financial payout some of our competitors almost certainly can.

But man it would be awesome to get him back for another year.

ESPN had its first article about this today, by none other than Myron Medcalf. A few days late. The only picture attached is of Cade Tyson in his Gopher jersey.

Not sure why everyone thinks Cade would bail? He went to North Carolina for money and it was miserable for him.

Cade's not likely going to stick in the NBA for long, if ever, so why try to make as much money as possible during his last year in college? That won't be here and there currently isn't a roster spot open.

I would love to be wrong and for Cade to come back though.

He's got to pick the right spot unless all he cares about is money. I don't think places like Indiana or Louisville would be good for him. I hope he looks at that before he decides where or if to go somewhere.
