Congratulations to Braun and McKinney. It is a great honor and hopefully a fantastic experience. I do worry about Braun overdoing the basketball because of her foot. I have wondered if that 3 x 3 experience before might have been too much stress on a young, developing body and contributed to her injuries. I also had great hopes that the 3 x 3 experience would teach Braun to attack the basket. I think the 3 x 3 experience will be great for McKinney at her age and experience. McKinney has such excellent movement and balance.
 


McCarville would still be a top center in this day and age. First off she was an absolute animal, she took no prisoners. She had great hands and was extremely aggressive. Add in her quick outlet passes, physical picks, and overall strength and she could play with anyone. I recently watched her games the final 4 year, there are very few centers I would take today over her.
 

Watched (YouTube) McKinney play 3x3 today for USA Basketball. US is 9-0 after 3 days of tournament play in Chile. Off tomorrow, then potentially 9 more games over 3 days.

McKinney looked really good. She’s been paired with Iowa incoming transfer Dani Carnegie, playing the same 6 games, and resting the same 3 games.

Pretty balanced scoring, but Carnegie leads the way with 39 points, McKinney is 2nd with 34, and 3rd is Katie Fiso and Nunu Agara with 31 each. Imari Berry has 29, and McKinna Brackens has 21.
