don't completely agree as number of games and focus on hockey are higher leaving HS, but agree that the benefit is lesser compared to what it used to be. That said, 60 games versus older competition is exactly what some guys need comparatively. The league stylistically has changed quite a bitUSHL is getting watered down. Non NTDP might as well stay in MN HS through their junior year and go to the CHL for one or two years.
With CHL and 5 in 5, the older competition is going to suck a lot more at hockey. That said, 60 games versus older competition is exactly what some guys need comparatively. The league stylistically has changed quite a bit
tbh, i don't think it's going to change for many people. think a lot of guys are going to be fine giving up 1 year and coming in with 4 to go. end of the bench guys are going to be done after college hockey anyway, same with guys who'd end up in ECHL. Some will change their commits, but I don't think it's going to be because they want 5 years in collegeWith CHL and 5 in 5, the older competition is going to suck a lot more at hockey.
Impossible to draw any conclusions off a class who had no knowledge that the ncaa was going to be a bunch of idiots this year and until weeks ago were going to be grandfathered in11 of the top 20 in scoring in the USHL would not have been there this year if they wanted to get 4 years in college.
they're going to end up somewhere. There's nowhere near enough room in college hockey for them. you're right some will end up in the CCHA or AHA, but those leagues also have no incentive to take those guys in large amounts (and the B10 and NCHC are not taking those guys in large quantities)My point is by taking all the somewhat-good-to-good grad+2 and grad+3 players out of the league, the quality of play will go down.
Silly bad take over there and one you’d assume coach worth his salt is not doing. He may also be waiting post draft to let some of these forwards see what they want to do based on their drafting teamsOh my god... GPL saying not getting top CHL players because they've already given a roster spot to Harris/Begley/Nevers...
