It's the offseason and we have months until the opener so, let's look back a bit. What are some of your favorite facts or memories that only Minnesota fans can remember or pick out. For me, here are some:
  • Tim Brewster’s “Get Your Chili Hot” phrase
  • Tim Brewster’s post game handshake in the 2010 Axe game Vs. Wisconsin
  • The 2012 “No More Minnesota Nice” shirts
  • The AggieVision/Casa De Autos broadcast in the 2013 Minnesota Vs. New Mexico State game.
  • Breaking the Governor’s Victory Bell Trophy in the celebration after beating Penn State in 2013
  • The Minnesota Special Teams social media run from 2014-2016
  • ESPN, namely Beth Mowins, trying to get the nicknames “smash and bash” to stick for Rodney Smith and Shannon Brooks in 2016
  • Mike Grimm’s “Win a pie for it” call of Tyler Johnson’s long touchdown in the 2017 opener Vs. Buffalo
  • Vince Vaughn being the guest picker for the 2020 pandemic season opener on College Gameday

“The Golden I” formation as proclaimed by Beth Mowins and Joey Galloway on November 12, 2013 against Penn State.

In 2012, Purdue throwing at Michael Carter three plays in a row, and he responds with two impressive PBUs followed by a pick six.
Amazing sequence of plays and memory😃

2014 San Jose State University game that was rain delayed in the 4th quarter, Chris Strevler started the game and only completed 1 of 7 passes for 7 yards but rushed it 18 times for 161 yards and a TD.

David Cobb also has 207 yards rushing that day along with 2 TDs.

One of my favorites. All I could find was the TD.

Uncle Tyrone's 2 TDs against Syracuse.

Adam Weber 5 TD passes October 31, 2009, including the Weber to Tow-Arnett bounce pass to Duane Bennett.

Ed Duren's interception against Iowa in the 1960's where he ran 96 yards for the TD, and it seemed like it took forever.

The cross field lateral on a kickoff that gave the Gophers the lead against USC and O.J. Simpson.

Was there, can confirm. Stuck around and watched when play resumed.

I think it was "slash and bash" with the idea one of them would pound you while the other was elusive. I think Rodney was "slash" and Shannon was "bash".

The 10-7 win over Kent St in 2015 was the worst win I've ever witnessed in person. Offense managed 32 yards over the last 6 possessions against a team that ended up winning just 2 games in the MAC. The offense could do nothing and handed Kent St their only 7 points of the game.

Beth Mowins calling Irving "Bucko" all game long even though it was clearly a joke.

I was a teenager attending this game when the Gophers annihilated Indiana 33 to 8 for a share of the Big Ten Championship back in 1967! Never will forget Jim Carter running over the Hoosier DBs.
