on the list of things to be concerned about based on the wolves-spurs series, this is about at the bottom to me.

More concerning is now yet another team has blazed past us in the pecking order. This team has peaked and needs to be blown up.

Yeah, I’m mad at Ant

We were only down 33 and still in this thing and trying to sneak up on them by putting in Bones, Clark, Joan, Slow Mo and someone I didn’t know was on the team, Julian Phillips. Those 5 all got the final 8 minutes.

We waved the white flag, game was over.

what you mean the kid who is so arrogant he thinks he could beat olympians in swimming or ping pong doesn't have a competitiveness problem?

I agree 100% this whole "he's not alpha" enough because he went and congratulated them early is such an impressive attempt to make something out of nothing and talk about something

he's a respectful guy of others' game and speaks and acts how his mind tells him to be. Is he a little immature? Sure. Do I ever want him to change who he is at heart? Hell no.

Hes just going to go where he gets the most cash. Dont blame him. If he gets more than we can offer, I dont think we can do ST

we could transiently go above the 2nd apron. Theres only a soft cap and you have to pay luxury tax if you stay above.

On Ayo, we now own his BIRD rights and can resign him and go over the cap to do so (that was the reason for trading for him in part and Connelly has said as much that we wanted his BIRD rights to be able to offer him more money)

He's most likely going to get a deal similar to Naz and Jaden around 4/$100M. I believe we are approximately $10-12M under the Hard Cap so salary is going to need to be traded with none coming back if we're going to retain him.

we're currently below the 1st apron. They have room to resign Ayo. I would expect they will trade someone because this team does not make sense to run it back (and I will be shocked if that is not Julius)

It more depends on if this ownership group wants to avoid paying any luxury tax or not (they won't go over the 2nd apron so not even going to go there)

I'd guess we resign clark cheap, resign mike cheap, resign ayo I think at a little less than what you're saying (think max we can offer is 17.5 for 3 years before he hits FA, so think he hits FA and gets a little higher and longer length like you mention), and then i think a guy like Bones may come back also cheap. would assume they also resign phillips to fill roster slots with dirt cheap guys

question is what it takes to move Julius and if that costs us, and if so how much. think the above moves leave you with some room to try be a player in FA for someone
