Medved: I may be unpopular by saying this, but I feel like at some point we’re going to have to get to some sort of collectively bargained model.

Agree with Niko but unfortunately its probably too late. Too bad 10-15 years ago they could bot have come up with some sort of rev share and not have to deal with NIL...

If players were getting say 150k per year plus the scholarship and perks this might all have been avoided.

Maybe if we pay the players….

NIL gets a bad rap because it is the disguise used to cover pay for play in basketball and football but NIL (real NIL, not the bastardized BS in the big sports) is something that was long overdue for college athletes.

I'm still hopeful they can get to a workable solution eventually but I don't see it happening anytime soon.

Yep, I don't think they will either. Too hard for the major players to be willing to level the playing field in my opinion.

Not so sure. I could see the boosters who were paying under the table before saying something like, "hey, if you can pay them why can't we?". I'd think the NCAA's side of the argument before the Supreme Court would have thus been weaker.

I don't blame the NCAA. When you have boosters year after year trying to do "pay 4 play" with an unorganized labor pool and no CBA, they'll eventually win.

The fact that the NCAA kept it going for as long as it did is something I'm happy about. Memories.
