this is a basketball threadPut all your hope in the Wild basket until Kaprisov or Hughes leave. That's literally your only plan for the pro teams.
We can't score for schit when we get this far.Trade Randle. That is move #1. Must rid him from this team.
We can't score for schit when we get this far.
I'd cry if we start naz.
How the hell you going to do this.
Gobert and Randle have been horrific this series. Just putrid.
I'm bitching here? OkWhy don't you throw out some solutions. All you do is bitch and offer nothing.
Yes, what can we get?Trade Randle. That is move #1. Must rid him from this team.
Maybe, but we can't get by anyone in this series. We can't put the ball on the floor.Finch needs to go. Zero ball movement and not much passion for defense or blocking out on this team.
This is as far as they can go.
What changes do they need to make?
Are we in on Giannis now?
It seems we are stuck in neutral. It's going to be hard to get better.
I need you to give me a plan.
I'm bitching here? Ok
Be done with Minnesota sports was damn brilliant I tell ya. Talk about a bitch
Ok...........go for giannis, trade the farm, and pray beringuer becomes damn good.
While I posted this, two more free runs to the hoop for the spurs.
Mods.......feel free to delete this entire thread.
My best hope is for the Timberwolves to get reallocated to NBA Eastern Conference, while staying in the Twin Cities.
So they can lose to the west in the finals? Who cares.
Gobert is doneI mean Minnesota/Minneapolis is the biggest loser city/state with 4 sports teams. Why is that so far fetched? At some point smart people cut their losses.
So trade the whole team for a 31 year old Giannis, that's your brilliant solution?

Doesn't giannis solve a bunch of that? How many "superteams" with multiple stars are still left versus how many teams with 1 big time star and a bunch of ancillary guys with roles and great depth?
I think you'll have your answer on the route to try go much easier. The aprons have made assembling stars with big contracts a poor strategy. Giannis and Ant paired basically gives you two guys who play iso best and are mediocre passing out of doubles. Find role players who 3 and d to pair with Ant and a PG who can facilitate and this team vastly better than being stuck with another sunk contract with Giannis
OKC is going to pay the piper next year. They're 29mil over the 2nd apron. The Spurs are going need to pay Wemby the max next year. I'd gladly take 2-4 guard/wing/center players in that mid tier level who give you depth over Giannis contract. The Spurs are murdering us with hounding ball pressure on the outside and guys that can all either shoot it or move the ball dribble/driving (exact same as OKC did last year). I get it's not the "sexy" answer, but accumulating draft capital or those guys on friendly contracts so our depth is better and we can pressure more defensively would be the route I'd go
No. They've done the exact same thing to Giannis historically. You pack the paint and play off him. He is a poor outside shooter. Giannis can play in the post and I suppose a pick and roll with him and Ant would be fun, but a pick and pop guy who can shoot inside and outside probably is a lot more effective.Doesn't giannis solve a bunch of that?
Can they double Ant like they are if they have a scoring force in the middle? I don't think they can. Rudy is no threat to score, so the pressure comes out deeper.
I dont know, but we can't score enough against teams when we get this far. Every shot seems like a struggle.
They are all over our perimeter players.
I don't think you need to blow it up for Ant. Getting rid of Randle a big start, hopefully it could help us land another wing player that can score to take pressure off of AntNo. They've done the exact same thing to Giannis historically. Giannis straight up for Rudy, yeah that's a banger of a deal. Giannis for Rudy plus multiple wing players and picks, we're a worse team after our starting 5.
I'd like Naz in the pick and pop with Ant much better than with Rudy, I agree.
The above of what you mention about scoring is exactly why I'd go with the defensive pressure approach. It gets you on the break, moving off missed shots, and getting simple shots with guys who are fresh and can cut and drive constantly. Giannis and Ant are both iso ball players who need the ball in their hands, which is not a recipe for consistent success in the postseason anymore.
Think Giannis feels like the "simple" fix that sounds good on paper, but I don't think that gets you over the hump with either SA of the future (maybe you get them this year) or the OKC of the present. The hard fix sets you up way more for the window you have over the next 5-6 years while Ant ascends to his prime (you're hoping)
but teams aren't packing the paint when we get this far. They could care less about the paint with rudy in there.I don't think you need to blow it up for Ant. Getting rid of Randle a big start, hopefully it could help us land

another wing player that can score to take pressure off of Ant
yes should be clear, don't mean you need to blow it up, just accentuate everything around him. You don't need some other dominant "scorer" if you have 3-4 additional guys who can chip in 8-15 depending on their shooting night while giving you defensive effort and ball pressure. DD is a perfect example of this. I'd move Randle and add 2 guard/wings on his contract size if you can who will defend and can hit a 3 when open. team is wildly better just with that move imoI don't think you need to blow it up for Ant. Getting rid of Randle a big start, hopefully it could help us land another wing player that can score to take pressure off of Ant
they are in the sense of Wemby can sag off Rudy and be there for help/patrolling the paint. That doesn't change because Giannis can't hurt you from outside consistently enough. They'll still get pressure as that is how the NBA exists now at the elite level. You give up a few more dunks at times, but you force way more turnovers as they can't call fouls every time down the floor.but teams aren't packing the paint when we get this far. They could care less about the paint with rudy in there.
McDaniels, Ayo and Ant are being pressured 30 feet from the hoop at all times.
Does this happen with someone like Giannis in the middle.
I'm looking at it as taking pressure off the perimeter.
