And serve massive discovery requests pertaining to a multutude of areas including officers' personnel files, prior similar cases, and many other potential subjects of inquiry. Plus an investigator would be very helpful! Philip Marlowe?

Dismissal with an apology.
Thomas Magnum is the only answer.

The team, recruits, parents, administration, the people paying NIL....and of course fans are curious but have no real right to know on the one hand but everybody that is invested in Gopher football and trusting PJ to lead is waiting.
I doubt many in administration think it's a nothing burger...whoever is paying Drake is pretty disappointed in him. There has to be some consequences that satisfy those on the tar and feather him side of the fence. My guess is that is the side PJ is on and has to be talked down to lesser consequences.
You honestly believe many people at all give a rats ass about this? This is a 20 year old drinking.

Appears like he will get a misdemeanor conviction with a fine or maybe community service. Not sure what the school will do.

Agreed, while some rats asses are worse than others 😬. Some would also say they don’t giving a flying **** which is another interesting saying since for most of us that would be pretty awesome and pretty interesting

I voted #3, because it is closest to what I think may end up happening. I don't think getting benched against Eastern Illinois for some amount of time (...could be just opening offensive possession or first quarter instead of a half or more...) is that big of a deal punishment-wise.

I would bet almost no one cares. In fact I would bet the majority of Gopher Fans dont even know about it let alone care.

And LOL that the NIL people give a crap he was caught with a fake ID not doing meth in the parking lot.

The school...if they cared then Sally's and half of Dinkytown wouldn't exist.

But keep up your dooming!

I don’t really get the people calling for a big public announcement about how this is being handled. Are the same people mad that the situation with Bryce Williams was handled similarly? All off field incidents are handled internally as much as possible, not saying Fleck doesn’t run a cleaner program than most, but part of appearances is how you handle the incidents that do happen.

I will stand by my values and understand right from wrong. In spite of that, I make mistakes, will continue to do so and live with my choices. I guess you don't.
So then by your "values" as long as he pays his fine and takes his punishment all is good then right? What makes you think he wont do that?

Oh you just want to look superior online and pretend your transgressions are less impactful than his. They aren't.

I guarantee your outrage over this is way more than anyone on the team or associated with the team.

How tall are you now🥸

Yep.....but of course there will be those that make the assumption that nothing is being done if it is not spelled out for them in complete detail.

This whole situation and the reaction to it really does underscore how few issues like this there have been in Fleck's time here.
Had the same exact thought.

Great minds...

Okay, it has been a handful of years since I coached...but nobody was more conservative than school administrators. It only takes a couple people bypassing the AD going to the principal and it is you gotta be kidding me for expected consequences that administration wants enacted.

I dunno... as far as PJ if it was 75th guy on roster...is he made an example of to warn everybody else? At some point it is why have rules...so what fans think has no bearing...it is what administration thinks...if he was in the NFL is he looking at a 3 game suspension?

Sally's isn't on google...Drake is. Students aren't representing the school. Drake is. Fans are inconsequential in punishment or no punishment.

I seriously doubt any recruit is "waiting" on this lol. Get over yourself, or get back into reality. Recruits and their parents have a lot more to think about than one QB in the middle of the country somewhere blah blah blah.

The only way people paying the NIL will care is if Drake is on the sidelines and the see their financial investment there as well, then they'll be mad.

And no, like another poster said, us fans aren't all waiting either. It's interesting to talk about, but that's about it. Whether it's been handled already or will be in the future doesn't matter to me at all.
Reality is PJ preaches development (personal and on the field) (it's why he is different...words to that effect...it ain't nuthin' to PJ and his message) to anybody who will listen and that includes the parents of recruits.

These stories were posted one day ago. I'm merely reporting what is out there with the media. As recent as yesterday.

It looks as if the media and the NFL are watching as well.

Minnesota’s athletic department issued a brief statement, saying it is aware of the situation and will handle it internally. Court hearings are scheduled for June 1 and June 29 in Fayetteville District Court. How P.J. Fleck manages discipline will be closely watched, as the program’s success hinges heavily on Lindsey’s availability.

I plead guilty! :>) However, he got caught.

But that does not make me immune to fines, issues with insurance and blots on my driving record. Drake is in the same ball game.
For all the guys thinking I'm a downer suggesting there will be consequences...read yardbarker above. And like I said elsewhere....if he was in the NFL...is he facing a 3 game suspension?

So your "old fashioned values" allow you to break the laws you want to, such as speeding, as long as you're able to pay the fines and higher insurance rates.

Great set of values you have there. Hope you pass them onto your kids and grandkids.

I'd say you put society at a greater risk by speeding then what Drake did. People get in accidents all the time because of people driving too fast, and yet you laugh it off by saying you pay the fines.
Rules for thee but not for me

A three game suspension for a misdemeanor in the NFL?

No. Nobody in the NFL has ever got a 3 game suspension for a misdemeanor. Ever.

I think more should start caring about rat's asses given the potential outbreak of hantavirus.

Those are all domestic violence. Quite different than having a beer 3 months before you turn 21. I would be in favor of kicking Drake off the team entirely if he was beating his girlfriend. Totally different situations.
Again, the question was the NFL doesn't punish misdemeanors...they do. Having a beer could be a one time thing...putting enough thought into it to have a fake ID does not indicate a one time momentary lapse of judgement.
All I'm arguing is ... it is not nothing.
