These stories were posted one day ago. I'm merely reporting what is out there with the media. As recent as yesterday.

It looks as if the media and the NFL are watching as well.

Minnesota’s athletic department issued a brief statement, saying it is aware of the situation and will handle it internally. Court hearings are scheduled for June 1 and June 29 in Fayetteville District Court. How P.J. Fleck manages discipline will be closely watched, as the program’s success hinges heavily on Lindsey’s availability.

I plead guilty! :>) However, he got caught.

But that does not make me immune to fines, issues with insurance and blots on my driving record. Drake is in the same ball game.
Were you ignoring the law for self-serving reasons?

If he does little to nothing the culture is hollow and loses credibility.
Not exactly the same, but last year Koi stopped handing the ball to the refs, etc. What blow did that do to the culture? He was directly going against what PJ wants, right there in front of PJ, for multiple games.

The team, recruits, parents, administration, the people paying NIL....and of course fans are curious but have no real right to know on the one hand but everybody that is invested in Gopher football and trusting PJ to lead is waiting.
I seriously doubt any recruit is "waiting" on this lol. Get over yourself, or get back into reality. Recruits and their parents have a lot more to think about than one QB in the middle of the country somewhere blah blah blah.

The only way people paying the NIL will care is if Drake is on the sidelines and the see their financial investment there as well, then they'll be mad.

And no, like another poster said, us fans aren't all waiting either. It's interesting to talk about, but that's about it. Whether it's been handled already or will be in the future doesn't matter to me at all.

The cat is out of the bag. Assuming all the facts are in, Fleck needs to act ASAP. I agree that Drake put PJ in a tough spot. And the team. People are waiting.

If its internal versus a suspension. whatever, Fleck needs to make a timely decision. And its needs to be in the best interest of the team. PJ's culture has been put to the test. The guy on the 5th spot on the depth chart needs to know that he is being treated fairly compared to Drake. If not, Fleck could lose the team.

That's why I maintain that Fleck will be forced to at least a half game suspension, if not a full game.
Court dates are in June. It would be foolish on Fleck and the teams part to do or say much of anything prior to those court dates happening.

All the reporting shows this is misdemeanor level stuff on Drake's part. Bad decisions and a bad look for him but not the kind of stuff that is going to blow up a locker room.

Odds are very good that if nothing comes out of the court hearings we will get nothing more than a passing mention of all this being dealt with internally and little to no public info about what that discipline entailed.

I have zero doubt that it is being dealt with internally and I would also bet nobody feels worse about putting everyone in this situation than Drake.

Call me old fashioned but I try to stick to my values.
I plead guilty! :>)

So your "old fashioned values" allow you to break the laws you want to, such as speeding, as long as you're able to pay the fines and higher insurance rates.

Great set of values you have there. Hope you pass them onto your kids and grandkids.

I'd say you put society at a greater risk by speeding then what Drake did. People get in accidents all the time because of people driving too fast, and yet you laugh it off by saying you pay the fines.

Agree. Besides we forget that coach Fleck "eats difficult conversations for breakfast. 🤡

Seriously, I doubt that Drake will be represented by a public defender. I wouldn't be surprised if the case gets thrown out.

At least he didn't fillet a Badger on his dining room table. (Although the video of that would have put Minnesota on the social media map).
Wait he didn’t? My God, that must be rectified; Get him a Badger at once!

Yeah, as long as nothing new comes out about what went down I don't see this rising to anything more then a slap in the wrist/don't do it again kind of thing.

I will stand by my values and understand right from wrong. In spite of that, I make mistakes, will continue to do so and live with my choices. I guess you don't.

I doubt many in administration think it's a nothing burger...whoever is paying Drake is pretty disappointed in him. There has to be some consequences that satisfy those on the tar and feather him side of the fence. My guess is that is the side PJ is on and has to be talked down to lesser consequences.
I will disagree in part. I don’t feel that the “tar and feather crowd,” deserves anything, one way or the other.

That’s just placating to the loudest screamers, in my mind.

I think Ike Eisenhower is a good example here; he was known as a huge eff up at West Point; yet always faced the consequences. That’s essentially how his character was developed.

Drake should face the consequences that are already spelled out. Whether that be some form of playing suspension or something else entirely. Treating him differently, in either direction to me is a disservice to his ultimate growth. And regardless of ignorance of the sports media apparatus, that’s the point t of this game, at this level. To teach the young men.

So, it's only illegal if you get caught? I see.

How do you feel about rape, or murder? Interesting. I'm sure you'll respond with relativity.

You're just dying, hoping that Linsdey gets in some really deep shit, ain't ya?

Ridiculous response. You don't at all appear to be able to understand "right from wrong". You're saying it only matters when it happens...to someone else.

Great response! Especially the 2nd part.

This is a non issue. Who didnt drink underage at college? I never had a fake ID I was just friends with the Bouncers at Blarney, The Library and B loco.

Yup. Definitely entrapment!!

Hope this doesn’t move him up Kirby Smart’s transfer portal wishlist next season. Assuming PJ will void all of Mr. Lindsey’s automobile-related NIL deals just in case.

Yeah, this is where you pay the big bucks that his family has so that you challenge every minor detail until the prosecutor realizes it's better to do a plea or something.

1. My client wasn't using a fake ID, he found it on the ground and was trying to give it to "authorities". Then hammer the bouncers and everyone on Drake's handling of the ID, blah blah blah.

2. Do the same for all the other details.

3. Start attacking the character of any witnesses and pressure them so much that they realize they will either need a lawyer or they should just recant anything negative they said about Drake.

I'd like to see all charges dropped.

He wasn't behind the wheel so he really isn't Georgia Bulldog material.

He got arrested so it is an issue.....it just isn't the massive one a couple of posters are trying to make it out to be.

And serve massive discovery requests pertaining to a multutude of areas including officers' personnel files, prior similar cases, and many other potential subjects of inquiry. Plus an investigator would be very helpful! Philip Marlowe?

Dismissal with an apology.
