Gophers QB Drake Lindsey Arrested on Underage Drinking, Fake ID Charges

Really? He had a fckg fake ID!

He needs some punishment or the whole PJ culture and leadership mantra is a farce. It doesn't matter about how much you guys think it is not big deal.

It is a Big Fckg Deal!

The fake ID and drinking in a hometown bar shows a serious failure in understanding of what is expected of him. He is PAID big bucks to be the starting QB of a B1G Program and has been selected as a Captain. He is just a year(s) away from trying to QB a NFL Team. He is not a normal college student, he is a face of the team. Minnesota, the B1G and any future NFL team expect him not to embarrass them. This cannot be laughed off, he needs a "come to Jesus" meeting that truly clarifies the seriousness of how he needs to keep his nose clean. Anybody can and will be replaced if they can't take their head out of their ass.
This is a bit, right?

Are you the inspiration for the Anthony Michael Hall line in The Breakfast Club (also in suburban Chicago)?

ANDREW CLARK: What do you need a Fake ID for?
BRIAN JOHNSON: So I can Vote.
And....Wyatt's fake license on Weird Science lol. Another great John Hughes film.

This will be handled internally and all will be fine. Guarantee his teammates are not upset. Probably laughing behind closed doors.
I guess some people think that Fleck's culture thing doesn't allow mistakes or errors in judgement. I'm sure there have been plenty of similar SMALL screw-ups, we just never hear about them and they are handled inside the complex.
Please remember, these are 18 - 23 year old kids. DUI is one thing. This is not that.

No shot. If Drake gets a full game suspension I'll get a Bucky the Badger tramp stamp and post pics here
Ok....so now I am conflicted.....I don't want to see Drake get a suspension but the tattoo would be funny as hell....

But yeah, think you are in the clear. At most he would maybe get held out for a series or something but I don't even expect that to happen. It will be handled and as long as he is smart enough not to do it again it will be a non-issue.

It is a bad look for him because he is well known but anyone acting like a college kid getting busted for underage drinking is some massive deal was probably on the edge of their seat when Fox 9 broke their big story years ago about college athletes drinking.

Yes that one, of drinking age, athlete savoring his drink was great tv.

BTW The badger tramp stamp would be funny as hell, but also cruel and unusual punishment for a Gopher fan.

What is DL making in NIL? 250? Half Million? Million? Think about that.

Then think about being arrested for underage drinking in public with a fake ID. Kid should have his head examined. You give me that kind of money and responsibility, and I think I could avoid that level of stupidity.

Some of the self-rightiousness on this board is unbelievable. Truly, get over yourselves. Fleck and the team will handle this and, i would guess, we'll never know how it was handled.

I saw 8 pages and was worried ... but it's not that terrible here ...

Whatever money he is making is irrelevant to the incident.

My god. Total non story. No one here knows how or if it will be addressed and who cares. It’s a non issue. I guess it’s off season.

Go gophers!

Although t shirts with his mugshot would raise a million bucks for his NIL.

Gold out? Long sleeve and short sleeve.

Failure is growth!

He’s 20. In many states drinking age is 18. Poor judgment on his part? Yes. Lesson learned: I’m recognizable and I’m making something of my life. There will be haters. I need to be careful. In the words of Herb Dean: “Protect yourself at all times.”

All 50 one needs to be 21 to purchase.

Many (31) have exceptions to consume/possess in private locations, but Arkansas is not one of them.

He was in a bar.

What states allow 18 year olds to drink?

I'm pretty sure that post you found is incorrect. There are many states with some exceptions for drinking with parents, etc but he was in Arkansas, at a bar. Arkansas makes no exceptions. It would have also been illegal in MN. Also, possessing a fake ID is illegal in MN and AR.

That said, the drinking age should be lower.

Yeah, it is wrong. There are several states, including MN, that allow people 18 and older to possess and consume alcohol in their homes with a parent or guardian present. But no bars, liquor stores, restaurants, etc.

PJ is huge on his Row the Boat culture. I don't see him brush this off. My guess is the Drake gets a full game suspension or at least one-half.

If it happened during the season.....I could see it happening. But right now? Doesn't even register as a minor distraction for the team. Plenty of time to sort this out before the year begins. Any sort of suspension for this would be downright silly. Kids drink. Minor consumption is a big nothing.
