Shama: It’s believed Medved will have a program high of over $7 million to pay players for next season.

I would love for all these NIL deals to be public, because there has to be some absolutely idiotic money being thrown around. Pro teams have been paying players for decades and they still do incredibly stupid things with their money (<cough>Kirk Cousins). I cannot imagine what is going on in this system, which is 5 years old and evolves every year.

Not untrue, but you have to take your advantages where you can get them.

Did I hear right that T. Denny Sanford was investigated for child pornography possession? As far as he and his alma mater go, he can keep his money.
This is only from two years ago...so it's not surprising it hadn't hit my radar yet. Only time goes fast.
T Denny story

The result of that should be urgency on both sides? ...I haven't done the math but if I'm not a top 25 guy waiting seems risky. But maybe the Top 25-50 gotta go before schools resign themselves to offer 50-200 rated players. And maybe the 50-200 think they are a Top 25 kinda guy. And schools say we can always get the 200-500 guys...don't bother with them right now.
How long do they have to sign again?

Probably until next year's enrollment deadline. Hardly, the point....with supposedly 50% of the players in the portal...a lot will not find chairs.

Makes sense. I know the time to enter the portal is only like 2 weeks.

I found a contributing reason why not much has happened in the portal: Today is the first day recruits can visit campus or coaches can go visit players at their location. Meet in person. The last couple days they could only do zoom calls, text, email or phone players.

I do wonder if some teams are delaying on signing recruits too. If they wait for the two week portal deadline to close, players on the team can't leave if competition is brought in. (in theory)

I can’t help but believe this delay has more to do with the market not being set yet. People have reportedly been asking for astronomical numbers so no surprise schools like Minnesota (and the players that are presumably in our price range) are just waiting (not necessarily by choice) until some of the dominoes fall.

Sounds like Michigan and UNC are fighting over Juke Harris from Wake Forest, $5million is the rumored offer for one player. Also hearing the ACC minimum is $250k per player

He should send some our direction in exchange for all the really good advice!
