Transfer Portal 2026

I wonder if Liv is the type of player that coach P would go after? She is a great player and can make things happen; but, she is very turnover prone.

I was not suggesting we should be able to designate $$ to a specific athlete. I responded to post about raising $$for Liv M. Noting that DTA only let you designate a team.
Mistakenly assumed that spellcheck had changed a word, replacing the word "Not" with the word "Now". The word "Not" would have indicated that you were disappointed that you could not designate your donation to a specific player. Although the way your sentence was constructed (with the word "Now" where it is, it's hard to know what you actually meant.

She's listed a combo guard so she can, but doesn't exclusively. No idea on the NIL money other than the Kane Rob On3 article listed her as "realistic" in coming here if Gophers wanted her given her defensive play and that she's from Minnesota, winning 3 state championships with BSM.

So, are we saying that Liv is uncoachable? I seem to remember a certain MN guard who had 135 TOV in her first year with Coach P and in her final season, she had 72.

On a side note, Liv averages 24.1 pts per 40 min played and had 80 steals this past season, so she does play defense. For reference, Amaya had 39 steals this year.

I see. The "now" was supposed to be "not." You are correctly interpreting what I meant...

I am so anxiously nervous for our favorite squad. We need a difference making post player. In Dawn I trust (nervously lol)
I would think we have options and visits but I guess we never know. They could also be picky as they want to make sure its the best fit. I am interested to see how they use the 3 open spots.

And I keep forgetting that a player can still commit to a school at any time after the portal closes. So we may have a bit to wait yet.

I expect both Nebraska and Indiana back in the top half next season.
Top half getting packed: USC, Michigan, Iowa, Minnesota, OSU, Maryland, Illinois, Oregon, Nebraska... and not to forget Indiana, Washington, Michigan State, and UCLA.

My first nine not in any particular order... believe someone posted earlier that we were picked 9th... before the portal opened.

What were we picked this season?

What were we picked this season?
Not sure... perhaps others can recall. One source I checked was 16th... I don't believe that. My guess was in bottom third.

My hope is for the Gophers to finish in the top six every year, making the tournament with reasonable seeding 4 - 6. Occasionally, top 3 finish with serious crack at Elite 8.

I'll be interested to see how Rutgers turns out as well with Gary Redus, Kim Mulkey's long term assistant, at the helm. He's already proven he can recruit. He wanted to help Kim coach LSU during the tournament but she told him "You can't have two wives at the same time!" And to get up there and start building his team.

Thanks l.

My point was we finished third and weren’t picked anywhere close to it. Team building/chemistry are our secret sauce😃

Unless she is dying to get back to New England, Fairfield seems like an odd choice with McCarthy having 2 years remaining. A good chance that Carly is not there as coach for 2 years.
Obviously I want her to be a gopher but there is value on going to Fairfield. Gets to play closer to home, play for a good coach and good chance at the tournament. She averaged close to 10 and 7 against mid majors last year so I would assume she would average close to a double double next year increasing her potential NIL earning her senior year if she wanted to transfer up. If she goes to the gophers I’m assuming her numbers stay similar and the theoretical NIL increase is probably capped a little bit more.

I hope she is a gophers though.
