All things golf

You can say this about an employee leaving pretty much any job in America. It happens everyday.

If you get hired back for the same job at your previous employer when you left to do the same job at a different employer for more moeny, you don't start at the bottom again.

Everyone knows Koepka, Reed, Rahm, DeChambeau etc are good enough to be on the PGA tour. They can all play in the majors but have to re-qualify to be on the tour? Come on.

Reed has not Won a Major in more than 5 Years which is how long an Exemption for PGA Tour status lasts for such a victory. He most certainly should have to start at or near the bottom.

He's was only eligible for the Masters as a past Champion as playing on the LIV caused him to fall in the World Golf Rankings. Joining the Euro/DP Tour has vaulted him back to #23, which would get him into the others, including the Open & US Open without Local Qualifying. In 2024 he did not play in either of those events.

"No Compete" agreements in business are a common legal contractual term to protect training investments and potential loss of profit for a company that paid to develop that revenue.

I have no idea if that can be applied to professional sports organizations without a CBA, though.

Complaining about the LIV players is funny to me. If you had a job offer that was going to pay you tens of millions more and you also get to work less, I think most people on this board are going to take that deal.

It's better for golf to have these players back on the PGA tour. If the sponsors were mad they left, they should have paid them more. The 'they should be banned for life' crowd is just jealous.
Not to mention LIV got the PGA to raise their purses. Everyone came up on the deal.

Not "everyone", fans sure didn't.

I used to be invested enough to watch PGA Tour Golf, in including the Playoffs roughly 10-12 events per year.

That shrunk to Zero since split.

Majors only, as far as my enjoyment. Haven't even tuned into The Players in several years. Barely cared about the Ryder Cup.

Viktor Hovland is -7 through 14 holes for the day. After tinkering with pin placements last year, they reverted back to the traditional locations that make the pins more accessible today. It could be pure fire with tons of movement from the last 4-5 groups.

He's still ranked 23 in the world and is currently tied for 9th at the Masters. He's definitely qualified to be on the PGA tour.

There would be more of an argument to have if these guys weren't allowed to play in the majors. Then I could get behind making them start at the bottom again.

They are but a lot of companies have moved away from them. They are not enforceable in a number of states, including Minnesota and California.

He only got back to #23 recently because he's on the Euro/DP Tour. He's working his way back in. Totally legit protocol that he's not eligible yet.

Justin Rose looks like a guy who sells Herbalife and never volunteers to work the concessions for his kids high school basketball team.

Young is your new leader at -12

Rory isn't winning back to back green jackets. He didn't have it yesterday and he doesn't have it today.

Far from over.....but Rory having a six stroke lead going into the weekend was a bad sign. He just doesn't play well with huge leads. Love that there are still like six or seven guys who could win at this point.

Russell Henley is all of a sudden -10

Rory falls to -9. Now tied for fourth

Didn't expect to see Rose, Hatton, Henley at the top of the leaderboard.

In the trees on 18 for Rory. Surprised he used driver there

I'm all in for a potential playoff with Rory and Scheffler if it happens.

OT...has anyone heard anything about why Amanda Balionas wasn't included as part of the CBS coverage?

She did the post round interviews.
