The U bought Station 19. What do you want to see The U do with it? Keep as BWW? New venture? Something bolder?

The backlash would be huge, IMO and something the state and the university would probably want to avoid.

In my opinion, there would be little to no backlash on tearing down a Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant, especially if it meant the land would be part of - say - a new $200 million arena/development project.

Its a BWW. No one cares if it goes. The building itself? Is anyone really attached to an old, outdated firehouse which hasn't been a firehouse for 50 years?

They should put in a place that sells the best sub sandwiches, toasted with garlic butter, Italian dressing and a whole head of shredded lettuce as well as serve cheap beer.

I would call it The Big 10.
Well by the time remodeling is done you could call it The Big 19.

Who has the best near-the-stadium bar/entertainment district in the Big Ten? Is it the Haymarket in Lincoln?
Haymarket in Lincoln is great.

Iowa City for sheer number of different bars as options

Bloomington is awesome, but it's a hike to get up to the stadium area

Champaign is very underrated, they have separate downtown and campustown areas

I suppose the other reason to spend $8 million on that land is to prevent this from happening. This is likely not what the school wants for that property.
Hopefully it sets up the new basketball arena built after our 3rd straight NCAA title in 2031.

LOL

And block the view of downtown that the stadium was purposefully built to allow?

The U would never allow this. This has a to be a joke picture
Ya think?!?
