Selection show

I said this last year but it's obvious the results don't actually matter anymore. St John's ties UConn in regular season and bears them in tournament but is three seeds lower.

Kansas gets a 4?!?!?
I just texted my friend the same thing. Kansas is so hot and cold this year and in the tournament historically.

Nebraska has NEVER won an NCAA Tournament game? How is that even possible?
Indeed. They've only made the tournament like 6 times and lost in the first round every time. They will finally get one.

Badgers made it in. The lakeville lovers continue the spiritual depantsing of the U. I almost forgot, F Pitino and Ben.

Everyone is saying it, but CBS should be utterly embarrassed for employing Bruce Pearl and let him spout his predictable bullshit.

It was amusing watching him have to sit there and watch Auburn being left out though.
Pearl keeps talking about the 3 big wins for Auburn but that’s about it for them. They have 4 quad 1 wins, the Gophers have 3.

Bruce Pearl is whining about 17-16 Auburn not making it. You love to see it. How can the NCAA look at the first four out and say "yes we need to expand the field."
Easy.....they don't see the team they only see $$$$$$

I don't see how it exactly equates into move the needle $$$$$$.

As it stands now, if the First 4 is such a "valuable" commodity why are those games farmed out to something called TRUTV? The Tournament doesn't start for most until their NCAA Brackets are due.

Once it's in a Field of 64 those games get the eyeballs. 4 fabulous days in which many completely rearrange their daily routines to watch on Thursday & Friday afternoon.

Extending that even more into the Tuesday & Friday prior. Meh. Loud meh.

More is less.

Agree but they must stand to make something because otherwise they would not be so desperate to do it. The only thing that is certain is that it has nothing to do with competition, it is all about $$$.

64 team field is great. Few to any fans seem to be calling for the field to expand and yet the powers that be still want to do it.

I think it's more about the P5 teams wanting to assert power and get more teams in the field.

Maybe the $$$ isn't about a bigger revenue pie, just the big boys getting a larger chunk of it.

Vandy being a 5 seed, St. Johns being a 5 seed, Nebraska being a 4 seed, Gonzaga being a 3 seed are questions for me. I would like to see how Duke and Arizona compare metric wise for the #1 overall seed. And yes, KU at a 4 can certainly be questioned. Ski-U Mah mentioned it earlier, hot and cold, that might be an understatement. LOL.

Duke deserves it, in my opinion, but Arizona is the better bet because of Duke's injuries.

I watched and felt he made one line about Auburn and then left it alone and handled in fine. He's just terrible and knowing what he is talking about beyond Auburn/SEC and butchers names constantly. Maybe he gets better, but CBS is mailing it in. It was a brutal production. The committe chair was the only value they had.

The ESPN women's show was lightyears ahead of the CBS production and knowledge. They broke down nearly every team, incorporating x's and o's to the discussion.

Now that Indiana has declined the NIT invitation, this is the first year that I can recall in which no B1G teams are in that bracket. Kind of an "all-or-nothing" year for the teams in our league - either you made the big dance or the season is over.

No B1G teams played in last years NIT. They either make the Big Dance or the Crown Tournament which is announced later today. Indiana has announced their season is over. Last year Nebraska and USC played in the 16 team tournament. (ONLY 8 teams this year)

Last year Indiana, Iowa, Rutgers, Penn State, Ohio State, and Northwestern all announced they would not play in any post season.

I get it to a degree but why do they deserve it?

The Big 12 is a far better conference league from top to bottom.

Comparing their respective schedules, Arizona has two losses, @ KU by 4 and at home vs Texas Tech (prior to JT Toppins injury). Duke has two losses, a neutral court loss to Texas Tech (prior to JT Toppins injury) and @ NC.

Arizona has wins over Florida, UConn, Auburn and Alabama, throw in an exhibition win vs St. Marys.
Duke has wins over KU, Arkansas, Florida & Sparty.

Duke is a head above everyone (Arizona/Michigan another few heads above the rest) according to KenPom. I would guess it’s mostly due to them both being phenomenal teams, but Duke having an 18th ranked Non-Con SOS vs Arizona’s at 102. Hard to make a wrong decision on this one either way.

I'm getting tired of Clark Kellogg. Just sayin...

Say something ridiculous and get attention. It’s not just for politics anymore!

I’m curious why media companies hold on to has beens for so long. Clark was done several years back, and while never the star, he could have retired or downsized with dignity. Now, when he leaves it will be “it’s about time.”

I’m not a huge Nantz fan, but the guy orchestrated his departure perfectly from basketball and keeps up less stressful assignments. Lessons to be learned by people refusing to let go.

I think you're all kind of being too hard on the Beaver. Broadcasting ain't easy.
