No chance he is even considering changing positions this earlyI wonder if he is being recruited as a QB or if they have another position in mind for him. Don't know if he lines up on D at all but wouldn't shock me if he was also a safety potentially.
100% QB, RB is the only one that plays both sides of the ball. Dad and brother were/are both college QB's.I wonder if he is being recruited as a QB or if they have another position in mind for him. Don't know if he lines up on D at all but wouldn't shock me if he was also a safety potentially.
He was hurt and missed games. They hardly punted. They were an offensive machine.2025 stats (8 games?): Passing 2221y, 27 td, 2 int; rushing 215y, 5 td
I’ll be impressed when he completes 75% of his passes
One huge factor is the collisions in D 1 football. Some guys don't relish the violence as much as others. Even the QBs.If Jett and David Mack can do to Big Ten defenses what they did to 6A defenses... the future will be bright. I think Moorhead's 3 recruits are underrated because they are outstate, but they played a 6A schedule. All their games were the same opponents they would have played if Moorhead was located on the western edge of Lake Minnetonka.
All seriousness, he is a good quarterback. He really impressed me in the few games I have watched. How it translates to the Big Ten... TBD.
Interesting question, in Minnesota it is pretty rare for there to be multiple Power 4 level recruits on the same team because there are only a handful of them in the state each year to begin with. 3 in the same class would seem extremely rare but maybe it has happened at some point in the past. When is the last time we had three recruits from one school in the same class?
For some reason I think there were a couple from Dallas Skyline about 20 years ago. But that's the closest I can think of.Will take some time to adjust from 6A in Morehead to the Big Ten, but all three could be huge.

The closest I can come to would be Coughlin and Winfield as freshman and Cashman as a sophomore for Eden Prairie. When is the last time we had three recruits from one school in the same class?
Well, just checked the 2010 roster on Gophersports.com.For some reason I think there were a couple from Dallas Skyline about 20 years ago. But that's the closest I can think of.
Eden Prairie had two top 6 in Coughlin(MN) and Spielman(NE) in 2016. Winfield would likely have been the third if he was still living in MN.Interesting question, in Minnesota it is pretty rare for there to be multiple Power 4 level recruits on the same team because there are only a handful of them in the state each year to begin with. 3 in the same class would seem extremely rare but maybe it has happened at some point in the past.
Good call - it was 4 in the same class IIRC including the FBS kickoff return yardage record holderFor some reason I think there were a couple from Dallas Skyline about 20 years ago. But that's the closest I can think of.

They were all in same class, per 247. i remembered if distinctly as we(fans) thought Brew’s chili would lead us to a Blue Ribbon (not Pabst)Well, just checked the 2010 roster on Gophersports.com.
Keanon Cooper, So. Skyline
Da'Jon McKnight Jr. Skyline
Spencer Reeves So. Skyline
Troy Stoudermire Jr. Skyline
So it looks like 2 each from Dallas Skyline for 2 years in a row.
If you wanna depress yourself quickly, review some of our commits from back in the day - we had such hight hopes.Yeah I remember the Skyline link, but I didn't know there were that many. That would be nice to open up again.
and we're all still here.If you wanna depress yourself quickly, review some of our commits from back in the day - we had such hight hopes.
He is accurate and can move around. I was impressed with his pocket presence. He ran when he needed to and just keeps the chains moving.Having a TD-to-INT ratio of 27:2 sure looks nice. It's great to see the U/Fleck doing well with the MN outstate kids.
For those that have seen him play, is he an athletic QB? Can he run effectively? Does he throw the ball down the field?
Da'Jon McKnight is a P4P most underrated offensive Gophs ever. Too bad he was stuck in that terrible eraGood call - it was 4 in the same class IIRC including the FBS kickoff return yardage record holder
Per ChatGPT -
You’re probably referring to the pipeline between Minnesota Golden Gophers football and Skyline High School (Dallas) in Texas. For a stretch of years, Minnesota recruited several players from that same Dallas school, which fans sometimes joked about as the “Dallas Skyline → Minnesota pipeline.”

- Became one of the most famous Gophers return men and finished as the FBS all-time leader in kickoff return yards (3,615).
- Da’Jon McKnight – Wide receiver
- Skyline standout who chose Minnesota over several major programs like Arkansas and Texas Tech.
- Keanon Cooper – Linebacker
- Another Skyline product who joined the Gophers in the same era.
- Spencer Reeves – Linebacker
- Also from Skyline and part of the same recruiting wave.
