Gopher Hockey Season Thread 25-26

So, at the risk of a certain poster saying something like "many people here thought the Gophers had a good chance to win the Big Ten Tournament, what a joke" let me throw this out there...

Please give me your guess on a % chance of that happening. To be clear I think we have no realistic shot at at it. But the odds are not zero. We just beat one of the top teams in the country after all.

I'd give it maybe 3%. So yes, I guess I believe we have a chance, no matter how small.
More like one in a million

35% chance win 1st round series x 30% win 2nd round x 25% win championship game
Even with a horrible Gopher team you saw what can happen last night in one game in today's college hockey. The first round is no longer a series.

#6 Gophers @ # 3 PSU: 37.5%
@ #2 UM: 35%
@ #1 MSU: 30%

About 4%

I'm more negative than Bonin. Haha.

Forgot that it's a 1 game 1st round.

Honestly, it's probably even a little higher. I do think there is something to a team that is do or die vs. a team that has a bid locked up. I understand playing for higher seed & such, but the sell out factor will be high for the Gophers. One thing through this down year I will say is I really don't question the effort; I think the team just isn't a good overall team.

Move me up to 5%....

Agree with the effort aspect which is also part of why you need a roster revamp as you just don’t have the horses

0%

This team has what, 9 wins on the season and can hardly string together multiple solid periods. They are not going to go and win 4 straight games or whatever the number would be

Three straight

7-1…that says it all. Let’s see if they even try to put a speed bump in MS’s path tonight. MS has no invective other than to stay healthy and sharp.

they have the one seed. a loss tonight and they drop behind Michigan and UND in the NPI

Oh God, they're gonna pound them
yeah i don't think the 7-1 was an aberration. expect tonight will be closer as we probably should've finished an extra 1 or so and MSU should've had 1 or so less. But I'm expecting we are culver's swept tonight

The sad thing is that i really am apathetic about how this goes tonight. I will be watching the state tourney instead. Time to start 100 percent focus on how to repair this thing.

i'll be there for the seniors who were part of some really special teams and gave a lot to this program, but yeah the w/l sitch and the big ten tourney is kind of whatever to me. ready to start seeing the movement for next year, whatever that means

Wiese in. Lamb is out (took a really stupid frustration penalty late).

So Weise gets pulled under 5 minutes in? After being there 4 years and backing up 150 games?
That's so shitty Motzko. Better make a change after this season so the program doesn't sink further into the abyss

He seemed pretty damn happy talking with Pat at the intermission.

Moorhead D unit may be better at hockey than the Gopher D unit

I hope this is a sarcastic post. And it is Wiese.

I seriously might make that swap. If you throw in #10 ftom Hibbing its a nombre brainer

Something I did not learn until today (it was announced in August) is that the Big 10 Quarterfinals has been reduced from Best of 3 to Best of 1.

I guess that helps, only needing to win 3 games instead of 4 to advance to the NCAA Tournament.

Lost defensive zone faceoff and then standing around like traffic cones. At least they showed they cared about their season ending, not.
