***OFFICIAL RUTGERS AT MINNESOTA LET'S GET A WIN STREAK GOING IN-GAME THREAD!!!***

By far the most well coached offense since Clem.
It's actually a better flowing offense than Clem had. Clem just had better athletes.
I love how Niko teaches people to hold the ball after catching so that the player with the ball maintains all three options of pass, dribble, or shoot. So many teams dribble immediately and give up options. The Gophers hold and look to pass as the first option.

Would a win @ Michigan even get us on the bubble? Really fun to watch this team perform. Hard to not like Niko, his energy and style of play on both ends of the court. Really helps when guys are raining in the 3's!

Unfortunately had some bad losses, but a lot of good quality wins and the team is fun to watch as they play basketball!

Rah!

Agreed the strength of Clem’s team was transition basketball producing high percentage shots—no so much the half court offense.

I imagine Bobby’s recent performances are strengthening his bargaining position. I hope he’s not a flight risk—I am a Minnesota sports pessimist.
In this current landscape every player is a flight risk every year. Hopefully Bobby is back with us next year, he has gotten better and better as the season has gone on.

Awesome to have that guy who can drill a 3 when you need it.

Along those lines if a top ten-type team came calling looking for Bobby as an instant offense 6th or 7th player, what’s Niko’s counter to stay?—putting aside the compensation issue.

Graduated in 1968 so who knows how many seasons I still have. But, damn, I hope there are enough to see what Niko will do here. Had forgotten how much fun a well-coached team can be to watch. That he's getting results like this with all those injuries is amazing.

This Bubble…..Possibly 🤷‍♂️

Niko's counter is his offensive scheme which makes plays for guys like Tyson and Durkin. Tyson tried NCU.... So that and, this can be a tournament team next year, I really believe that. Build around, Durkin, Asuma and JCJ, add the promising frosh group and go get 3-4 transfers that can play.

Exactly. Plus Niko can scheme defensively which has helped BD immensely make up for a lack of athleticism.

BD could flounder in a lot of systems out there. I don’t think you risk that, but obvs money talks…

I hope your logic prevails if this circumstance arises. I’ll say (not totally facetiously) we’ve had more open looks this year than in the Pitino/Johnson/Smith/Monson years combined.

Yeah, only way into the NCAA tournament is winning the Big Ten tournament, sad part is that if the team had a little better luck on the health front it might have been a bubble team.
There's a metric measuring luck and we had the 13th worst luck in the country, last I checked. Its uncanny.

You forgot about the other guys we have coming back from jnjury… all solid players. They could be really good next year just bringing back what they have and the fresh. Add one scorer to do some of what Tyson does so don’t have to rely on fresh as much and they’ll be good. Also to the clown worried about Bobby leaving… Niko had a pretty good history of keeping top players at CSU. And, our budget situation not as bad as some like to think.

You and me both. I graduated in 1967.

We're a B1G team, run a system perfect for him and should be an NCAA contender next year. No reason he wouldn't stay. No team is offering him some huge raise. I'd be more worried about JCJ on that front.

Just say "How did going to UNC workout for Cade Tyson and Kyan Evans? How did they fair with me as a coach?" Just let the proof of success sell itself. Take a little less to be happy and successful.
