Robert Duvall - RIP

One of the best ever to do it. A life well lived.

Go Robert Duvall!

I thought "Colors" (1988) with Sean Penn was a terrific movie that deserved more praise.

RIP, Greatness.

I hope his tires are matched perfect and staggered special.

My favorite Robert Duvall performances:
  • The Great Santini--If you've never seen this, treat yourself. I consider it one of the great American films. He was nominated for the Oscar but did not win.
  • Tender Mercies--The Academy finally awarded him in 1983.
  • Falling Down--A guilty pleasure film of mine. I guess you might call Duvall the co-lead, but Michael Douglas got top billing. One of the most sympathetic characters he played in his career.
  • Phenomenon--In a supporting role to Travolta, but as he often did, he stole the show, especially his monolgue/tirade near the end.
Honorable mention: THX 1138
