2026 Schedule

IIRC the Seattle Alumni association is one of the larger alumni associations of the U (but maybe I'm remembering wrong, lol), so hopefully there is a large Gopher contingent there!

I love in Seattle and we've had this game circled on the calendar since it was first announced. I've got family planning to fly here to attend the game, and we're tentatively going to try to sailgate before the game if possible!

Problem is we can't fully begin to flesh out plans until the B1G releases the finalized schedule with all the official dates. I'm hoping it's earlier in the season so that there is less of a chance that it is gloomy and rainy.
If Sailgate doesn't pan out, I will be up in Padelford lot. I will likely be the only tailgate with Washington and Minnesota flags flying.

Bye week is MEA and leads into Iowa and Indiana.

B1G schedule alternates home and away which is nice balance

They will announce Friday games later.

September 26 game with the Huskies is almost 85 years to the day from 1941 opener at Washington where the Gophers started their successful defense of their 1940 National Championship. Read Danny Spewak’s wonderful book about the 1941 season and the approach of the American entrance into World War ll—and the stories of team members who fought in the war.

I'm surprised that Coyle didn't fight for a home game that weekend.

The Friday night game worked out perfectly, with no HS that night.
There is going to be some funky scheduling in high school football this year. With the late Labor Day, MEA is actually week 7 this year not week 8 (of high school football)

I assume 6a schools will just play week 7 on Wednesday.

The other 6 classes will have to go
Week 7 - Wed Thurs or fri
Week 8 - traditionally would be Wed (oct 21)
Round 1 playoff Tues (Oct 27)
Round 2 Saturday (Oct 30)
Section final Friday (Nov 6)

I haven’t actually seen what MSHSL has said on the issue or not yet. But the late Labor Day throws things off.
Labor Day is the latest it possibly could be (first Monday in Sept)
MEA is the earliest it could be (third Thursday in Oct)
