Major League VolleyballCall me stupid. But what's MLV?
That depends. If people are leaving because they are unhappy and disenchanted, that is bad. If people are leaving because they can get a promotion and career advancement, that is good. It says that the program helped them develop and is respected.IMO the coaching and development of our middle players he brought to this program is going to take a huge hit.
Five assistants have left in KCook's 3 seasons as HC at Minnesota. Am I asking for too much when I want to see more stability in our volleyball program?
All good, but I just feel that not all of KCook's hires were positive from the beginning, without going into specifics. I am also wondering what will be the long term affect, if any, these Pro Women's USA Volleyball Leagues hiring coaches will have on the College Level hiring in the near future. That depends. I have been involved with a lot of recruitment/hiring. I've seen too often where people say if we hire this person, they won't stay long. So, you hire the mediocre person who has no upside potential. My philosophy is to hire the best person available and if they produce and develop so that they can get a higher level position, that is great. They will leave feeling good about the program and will say good things and provide favors in the future. All I ask of people is that they give me X of the best years of their lives. Then, I am proud of their success and feel good about our contribution.
