Just ask Sam DarnoldGood chance not wanting to end up with the Raiders or Jets played at leas some roll in his decision to come back. Some teams have just proven to be QB graveyards and those are two of the worst over the past few years especially.
"an early pick" No, the Jets have 3 - 1st round picks, so far in 2027. And there are just more potentially better QB's in 2027. Moore could play really well and go first or second in 2027 but he was already there in 2026. He could just as easily fall out of the first round....what if he plays bad and then gets hurt on top of it. No upside that I see. The bad teams generally draft at the top every year....I don't see somebody good trading up to get himin 2027 ...he's not a Josh Allen specimen, he's not even Arch Manning pedigree. There's 10 QB's who could pass him up in 2027 but in 2026 he was 1 or 2. And he could play better than I think he is and be the buzz...but if he does he's only in the same place.Jokes gonna be on him when the jets have an early pick next year too lol
The upside is that he has a good season, stays near the top and gets into a better situation."an early pick" No, the Jets have 3 - 1st round picks, so far in 2027. I mean I get that he has been injured but damn he really let himself go
That's Patrick Mahomes, duh
That was my first thought as well but Mahomes has to stay in shape for the State Farm and other ads that he is in.That's Patrick Mahomes, duh
You make good sense. I know it is not as black and white a decision as I make it.The upside is that he has a good season, stays near the top and gets into a better situation.
The Jets are the Jets and their current OC has never developed a QB.
It'd be pretty surprising if 10 people passed him. Most of these people projecting to pass him are his age or older. Other than Sayin, they were all eligible this year and considered worse prospects than him.
I agree with you that it's a bit of a risk and probably not one I would take. The Jets might not end up being a putrid landing spot (they have the bookend LT, the have a good WR), but I can understand why someone who will already be a millionaire is cautious about when he takes the leap. Being a franchise QB is worth hundreds of millions of dollars but it usually requires all the talent and the right situation.
