I think he needs another year anyway. He’s making a little scratch at Oregon, he’ll skim by alright.
That is an awful lot of guaranteed money to walk away from, especially when you can't really improve your draft stock by coming back since he probably already would have been the #2 pick.

Obviously he will get paid at Oregon but it will be nothing close to what the #2 pick in the NFL draft gets.

As long as nothing catastrophic happens the NFL money is probably still there for him next year as well but this is a definite gamble on his part.

It's all because of Koi...

Maybe he's looking at the draft order and sees Raiders 1, Jets 2, and Cardinals 3 and decided it was best to wait a year for a better situation to present itself.
I mean the teams at the top will almost always be a mess but kind of feels like he is really trying to avoid the Jets with this move since Mendoza is almost certainly headed to the Raiders at #1 overall.

Yeah no kidding the Raiders and Jets are the 2 most dysfunctional franchises in the NFL. They chew up and spit out college talent at a ridiculous level. Sad thing is they might be picking in those spots again next year.

I wasn't that impressed when I watched Moore play. Was it just me? He seems talented, but does not seem like that good of a QB yet. He seemed to benefit by being surrounded by so much talent. I can't believe he would have actually been drafted that high.

Reports are that he told Oregon he'd be fine if Moore decided to come back, now if he actually meant it might be a different thing altogether
The knee is going to take time to fully recover. If he is in system and heir apparent, he may redshirt to let it fully heal then run it back the following year. Just speculation of course. Everything is upside down in college athletics.

Moore is probably getting $7-8 million at Oregon.

If being the #2 pick was likely, how could he walk away from that NFL guaranteed money?

No its Raiders 1, Jets 2.
He was suggesting that would be the draft order the next year so waiting a year to be drafted may not put him in a better situation as it's likely some of the same teams that will be drafting at the top again in 2027.

Thats always the dilemma with QBs that play CFB at top programs and to be honest its warranted. Not a lot of them really play at a high level in the NFL. I only saw him play the game against the Gophers and he looked decent. The Gophers do tend to make average QBs better than they really are so who knows. As far as him being drafted that high we are talking about the Raiders and Jets so anything is possible.

Ah got it, yeah its definitely not a stretch to think those 2 teams will be picking in similar positions next year.
