Other B1G conference games 2025-26

There's no shame getting creamed by UCLA. There's no expectation to make the Elite Eight, and UCLA is a Final Four contender.

The goal is to make the NCAA tourney this season. The medium-term goal should be to become a perennial or nearly perennial NCAA team with Sweet Sixteen aspirations. That's the next step.
Yep. I'm going into it thinking that it'll be a huge moral victory if we keep their margin to 15 or below. Time to flex those defensive muscles as we're one of the best defenses in the Big Ten!

We’re the best defense in the nation!

UCLA in on another level lol
Interesting team though; top 6 players are Grad or Seniors. I was looking at the 2026 ESPN recruiting page and don't see any top 100 players heading to UCLA next year. I wonder if they will turn into a portal program? Yes, rankings don't mean much, but it just stood out to me.

Was anyone watching the game on Big10+ yesterday and hear this, they said USC is going to get the #1 high school girls recruit for next year. The announcers said that would make it three years in a row with the top recruit from high school. How is USC doing this?

...and next year's recruit is from Ohio, right under Kevin McGuff's nose. The really interesting thing is all three of those number one recruits-in-a-row are guards.

Juju will be back next year. Will there be enough basketballs for the 3 of them?

Might be a case of follow the money. That women’s program has a fair amount of famous alumni that have done pretty well for themselves.

Minnesota plays #15 Michigan State the last home game of the year at the Barn. Could be a big, tough game. I mean a big, BIG game.

Hot ticket alert: February 22, Sunday, 5 pm, add that to your calendar. Be there, put that on your reminder. SeatGeek.or Gophers ticket office.

Another topic, all this talk of needing a modern bigger stadium, the Barn is amazing. That raised floor, seats in the action close, action unfolding before you almost no matter where you sit. I have enjoyed the games, including men, this season.

What gets me frustrated is I believe we have as much talent as Iowa and are just as veteran, yet when Iowa is clicking they seem 10 times faster then us on offense, move the ball well, take their shots from 3, but also know how to work the posts withe Stuelke and Heiden. Have to admit it is fun to watch. My daughter is a big fan of Iowa and says multiple times their games are much more entertaining than Gophers even in Iowa losses.

They also seem to be working and developing Hays and Deal(their two freshman) more and more throughout the year even in big 10 play. Deal has come up big for Iowa with a spark against Oregon here in the first half in 10 minutes. This is where wish Coach P would be able to use Christian in more big 10 play by now.

Oregon has some shooters and seems pretty fast as well as Iowa D is no slouch either. Going to be a really interesting road trip for us coming up. Maybe long trip on the road will help with some team bonding!

Rah!
