What happened to the Cal and Purdue transfers that got injured early in season?

We always hear about the two starters who are done for the year. I don’t go to the games anymore so I can’t tell if they are on the bench.

Cal transfer BJ Omot out for season likely, Maryland transfer Chance Stephens ruled out for year since before first game of season

Omot situation is odd because he hasn't officially been ruled out for the year but also doesn't seem close to returning based on what little info there is available.

The 7 who are making up the rotation are doing a solid job but would be interesting to see what this team would have looked like at full strength.

What is up with these two? We are now nearly 3 months into the season, when are we going to see them?

Who loses minutes when they are up and running, Groves & Shinholster?

Row The Boat
Ski U Mah
Go Gopher

We won't see Stephens and at this point I doubt we see Omot. If Omot does come back I am guessing he gets 10-12 minutes at first, those minutes probably come from our starters to get them down from 36 plus to 30-35

What about Maximus Gizzy? Older guy coming from smaller school, but hit 36.6% from 3 and was defender of the year I believe. Not that tall but seems to be built and one that could provide some energy with some hassle D and possible long 3 here and there? Believe he started with team late so be interesting to see if Niko ever develops him for some few flash minutes?

Omit will sit out get a medical redshirt and get paid next year is my guess..
He's listed as a redshirt junior on the roster and I don't believe he ever took a regular redshirt year at UND so I'm guessing he got a medical hardship for last year only playing 4 games. Can a player use a regular redshirt after already being granted a medical hardship?

"Solid"? I'd say more like spectacular considering who they are.

4 starters out and a big- this has been brutal to watch. This is getting kind of irritating to watch more than anything else (on a yearly basis). I'm tired of renting out the 49ers training staff to work with our guys. BJ was "fully healthy" at the beginning of this year- what happened?!?

I don't know, but I think the stress fracture he sustained in June on his tibia was re-fractured and that is why his is sitting out this season.

I think he was far from healthy "at the beginning of this year", also he wasn't healthy at Cal either...
