Here's a link to a Pioneer Press article yesterday (via the Echo Press website) summarizing all the Gopher players who have entered the transfer portal. The article categorizes the players by group (Star, Key Players, Role Players, Notables, Walk-ons), beneficial for those of us who don't follow the team that closely.

If no other notables are added to the loss column the Gophers will be immensely more talented in 2026. (1)We have a nice high school recruiting class, (2)our transfer class already has additions that are exciting and we will add more of them and (3) we have a lot of returning players who saw the field enough to gain valuable experience. They will improve and they did win 8 games. (4). I do
believe we have improved the coaching staff.

2026 should be a good year for the Gophers.

I think Bryan will be missed at a level. I thought he would play better in 2025 after doing fairly well in 2024. I can never figure out why some of the receivers we recruit don't blossom. I thought Lanier was going to be a very good deep threat but it wasn't to be. Is that a miss in evaluation, coaching, or offensive scheme?

Potential is definitely there if we can fill a few holes. Most of the key guys have indicated they are returning and Smith coming back is a huge boost to the defensive line.

Big off season for Drake to take a large step in his development now that he has a season as the starter under his belt and some game experience to build off of.

What's your definition of good?

Well, I wrote it that way because I haven't taken the time to look at the schedule. i think we have less home games and I think our opponents might be more difficult? So, winning games might be harder? But I guess I was thinking 9 or more wins.
Seems like we might beat Iowa at home....that'd qualify as good all by itself if we win 7 or 8 others.
