70’s Guy: I wish I could go back to 1985 and explain to people that in the future you have to win the Rose Bowl to play in the Peach Bowl.

I wonder how one would explain to someone in 1985 that in 2025 that the Sugar Bowl was contested between the SEC Champion (Georgia) and yet another SEC member, (Ole Miss).

I think the most mind-blowing thing would be that teams are asking for donations from fans to keep their team competitive (and that players are making over $1 million).

Yeah, that is tops.

Probably next would be the Ole Miss Coach that guided them in the Regular season bailed a game before the Sugar Bowl, to go to yet another SEC Rival, LSU.

Even my 1985 self seeing Lou Holtz go to South Bend prior to the Independence Bowl would find that rather unfathomable.

Add to that, all season ticket holders have to pony up a donation per seat to pay for a 1 million dollar player's scholarship!
