Max

Maybe it’s bad juju to even suggest it but I hope Brosmer gets a few more chances to resurrect his career rather than have the runner up play to the butt fumble be his lasting legacy.

Didn’t watch but JJ seems a little cursed? Nothing broken is good but can be lesser of two evils sometimes. Something torn?
No matter what happens over the remainder of this season at least Max was able to get back out there and show that he is better then what he showed against Seattle. May help him keep a spot in the league going forward.

Yeah if it just gets him another shot to show "hey I'm better than your other backups" then that's pretty good.

Granted I'd like to see him stay with the Vikings and do the same.

KOC really seems to like Max so would be cool if he could settle in here as the #2 QB for a while. If they stay with JJ he has shown he can't stay healthy so plenty of opportunities available to a backup QB to get on the field from time to time.

When you look around the NFL and see some of the 2nd/3rd-string QBs that have been forced into action, it makes me think that Brosmer has a shot to stick around for a few years. I think about guys like Tim Boyle who managed to hang around the league for 6 years, guys like Aiden O'Connell (who was a very good college QB, but having trouble at the pro level), and others who managed to carve out multi-year careers at the pro level and believe that Brosmer compares favorably to them.

Forget the backups....pull up a list of starting NFL QBs....once you get beyond the elite guys there are a lot of mediocre QBs out there starting for teams.

Brosmer definitely has a chance to stick in the NFL for a while. May never be a regular starter but I don't know that I would bet against him.

He had one inexplicable play that then spiraled on him in game one and just like a lot of other folks here I’m glad he got another shot so quickly. I hope he sticks in the league he did a lot for our program we could have gone off the rails a bit in ‘24 without him.

Sounding like Max will start the last two games...reports are JJ is out even though reports are saying he didn't break any bones. JJ has had some flashes to show me he can probably be a good starter...very worried he is not durable or is too hard driving (like Buxton for the Twins) that ongoing injuries are inevitable.

The durability factor could be McCarthy's downfall and it definitely makes things more complicated for Vikings management. Unless Brosmer looks like the second coming of Joe Montana the last couple games, they HAVE to bring in a decent veteran QB for competition. That's too bad cuz McCarthy has good physical tools and he and the coaching staff seemed like they were starting to figure things out.
