Also remember you can trade Hughes next year and get basically the same haul again if things so south. Cant wait for tomorrow night when he joins the Wild.

One thing is for sure, this will make the Wild PP one of the best in the league. Lethal.

I'm wondering what impact this has on other Western Conf teams not only making moves to beef up their roster but make moves prior to the deadline. The Oilers already made a sizable move to try to improve their woeful goalie situation.

The VGK were already expected to acquire blue-liner Rasmus Andersson from Calgary at some point, I'm hoping they make that move sooner than later. He wants out of Calgary, and he made a little noise last offseason by saying he only wanted to play in Vegas.

The Western Conf could see an arms race between now and the deadline

Thanks for posting, TGIFriday. Ironic, because I literally watched the one on Buium 3 days ago. Didn't know about Zeev's brothers. Hate to see Zeev go. He's got such high potential and he's already electric. Great hands, great speed, developing vision. Sky is the limit. Very sad to see him go.
 



Looks like Buium fitting in up in Vancouver already. He got PP assist 60 seconds into his first game with the Canucks; Vancouver up 1-0!

And then he tacks on a PP goal of his own at 6:48 of the first. 2 PP pts for Zeev less than 7 mins into his first VAN game.

Is there a better 1st line defensive pairing in the NHL than Hughes and Faber?

If Hughes doesn’t sign an extension here he is basically telling the whole league that he either intends to test the market in free agency or is hell bent on playing with his brothers. You will have a hell of a time getting a team to pay a similar return for a 6 month rental.

Buium could become a star, Hughes is in his prime and has won a Norris trophy. They were clearly looking to dump Rossi as well and we have plenty of guys like Ohrgren in the system.
