Dribbles & Scribbles
-- This is the last time on the college hoops slate it'll include a boatload of Power 5/Gonzaga vs. Power 5/Gonzaga matchups. It's hard to pick out just a couple, but I'd recommend in particular you put these ones on your Skylight calendar: Alabama vs. Arizona (8:30/ESPN) and Gonzaga vs. UCLA (10:30/ESPN). And if you're looking for a game with two brand names desperately needing a win for their mostly empty resumes, go with Indiana @ Kentucky (6:30/ESPN).
-- Most impactful "Bubble" game of the day? Arizona State vs. Santa Clara in Henderson, NV. Santa Clara needs it more because ASU will have a lot more opportunities for resume wins in the Big XII.
-- Feels like we have a couple pivotal games today for the Summit's best two teams to date, North Dakota State and St. Thomas. Both face solid road tests; the Bison at Drake (coached by former SDSU coach Erin Henderson) and the Tommies at UNC-Asheville. These are the type of games Summit contenders need to win if they want to get their NET ranking in the neighborhood of #100, and/or improve their seeding in the event they reach the NCAA Tournament. The Bison are a 5.5-point underdog, while the Tommies are favored by 2.5
-- Is there a bigger whiner about game times than UCLA coach Mick Cronin? Hey Mick, you might be better served talking to the UCLA president and board members about that, you know, the ones who decided to take the money (and time zones) of the Big Ten.

Deep Thoughts, by Buzz Studley
The Big East is trending toward being a 3-bid league, at best. After UConn & Saint John's, it's pretty slim pickings. Seton Hall (vs. NC State) and Butler (vs. Virginia) both have a good win, but after that, not much meat on the bone for the rest of the league.
