I'm sad to announce that my father, known here as KillJoy passed away on December 3rd at 83 years old. KillJoy hadn't posted on here in about 5+ years, but was previously a regular poster. My dad loved Gopher football to his core; was a 50 year+ season ticket holder, and loved to keep Excel spreadsheets on recruiting. He still had his ticket to the 1962 Rose Bowl game, as well as some National Championship memorabilia. He had told me of memories of listening to the Gophers on the radio while raking leaves with his dad in the 40's & 50's. May he rest in peace and see another Big 10 championship from above.

Very sorry for your loss. He was so fortunate to see the 1962 Golden Gophers in the Rose bowl. Lived through some great Gopher football memories when college football was just that.

I am so sorry to hear this, I remember his posting here. May his memory forever be a blessing. I hope you and your family cherish the memories you had with him and it's special to share the passion for the Gophers together.

Such a great generation of Gopher fans. Lost my grandfather 1.5 years ago. 94 years old.

He would often share stories of hitchhiking or catching trains to go to Gopher games in the 40s.

Sorry for your loss - can only hope that the memories you have and share with family in the days to come bring a few smiles to your face.

A great moniker for a man who was a great Gopher football fan.
