That’s the difference between the Las Vegas Bowl and the Rate Bowl. Vegas would have paid enough to cover the band traveling.

Although, we should get enough from the B1G bowl revenue sharing to pay for the band. It’s a bowl game and Coyle should pony up!

Maybe not at the G5 level bowl games, but I usually see bands when a P4 plays a P4 team. It seems in the SEC, the bands go on the road during the season. I heard the OU band playing that stupid song over and over when they were at Alabama.

SEC bands travel, like full bands. USC band travels in the B1G.

They were definitely there.


The last time the Gophers played in Phoenix was against West Virginia. West Virginia brought a smaller, subset of their band made up of just upper classmen if I remember correctly.

The kicker is her kid didn't take all the possible items they could, so that is what they chose to put in their bag lunch. It was limited because that is what they picked. Their bandmates were not the least bit amused.

The band is ASS. Compared to other bands and what they play, certified garbage. Sound good, shit music. Doesn't help bring in casual fans playing songs people can't name unlike the BIG 12 and SEC schools that play Ares, Neck, Mortal Kombat, etc. Till they figure out to keep fans entertained during halftime and not just looking around awkwardly with lame music I will not support the band. Also change the band name. No one brags about the "Pride of Minnesota," Marching Band. If you want to name something the Pride Of Minnesota, give it to the dance team. People are entertained and they're actually relevant. Take them to the bowl game because they're WINNERS and can actually entertain.
