Nick Rallis ?

You need to remember that Deebo was on a NFL Minority Internship. His chances of coming back are reasonable. I don't see Rallis taking a step down as very likely. If coaching change comes late in the hiring cycle, I could see Rallis taking a one year Analyst/Consultant type position.

Cardinals might let the staff go.

Their DC is our own Nick Rallis.

Any chance we bring Rallis back ??? DC ?

Would love this move !
Winston yes. The cardinals defense has been terrible. Not sure about Rallis at all.

To the other poster how much of a pay cut are they willing to take lol. They are making plenty wherever they coach. They didn’t perform at all this year either.

Winston is the current full-time NFL defensive line coach at Arizona. He is not an intern for the Cardinals.

Winston made over $400k/year with the Gophers as DL coach in 2024. He wasn't leaving that to go do an internship in the NFL.

Winston has been with Arizona less than a calendar year.

He left the FULL-TIME defensive line coaching job at Minnesota earlier this year, to take the FULL-TIME defensive line coaching job with the Arizona Cardinals. He was never an intern with the Cardinals. Ever.

So, he didn't "become" a regular hire. He was always a regular hire.
He became a regular hire after two stints as an intern with NFL teams. His start in the NFL was through the Walsh Diversity Program that's what I remembered.

The HC at Arizona is the defensive mind with Rallis as his coordinator. Not sure Rallis would be a great fit as they are a 3-4 front IIRC.

He was part of the NFL Diversity Program WHILE he was a full-time assistant at Akron and at Minnesota. It was part-time and temporary during the offseason.

He became a "regular" hire at Arizona straight from Minnesota, not from his off-season diversity fellowship experience 2 and 3 years ago.

Regardless, I'm guessing that Fleck will have chats with a number of candidates after the pro season along with the bowl season is over. Although, I suppose there is always the possibility of agents snooping around beforehand.

Hard time seeing a NFL Defensive coordinator coming to a college job, but maybe the ties there help

If Rallis comes here as DC and sucks, are we allowed to hate his coaching, or are we prohibited since he's One of Us? There are some complex rules in place here that I need help understanding.

Seems the timetable on assistants is moving up a bit as a number of programs are making moves and hiring people already. Fleck usually waits, but it will be interesting to see how long he waits.

You are required to give him the benefit of the doubt and a longer leash than he would otherwise receive. But that goodwill is not indefinite. State of Minnesota v. Lindsay Whalen (2023)
