We now own the longest conference championship drought in Big 10 football

I’m pretty sure we have a concept of a plan …
Hopefully it’s not the same plan we’ve been going by for the past several years, but I’m pretty sure it’s going to be a very similar plan with very similar participants.

Right, the teams at the top every year just happen to invest heavily in their programs without exception.
The portal has been a net gain for us overall, PJ has clamped down the border and we have as much talent as we ever have. It just hasn’t translated; at least yet. A couple of key injuries at either Indiana or Texas Tech and their seasons are completely different.

Even Purdue played in a B1G championship game as recently as 2022.

Key talent other than OL I guess it’s started to come out that we missed on two or three recruiting classes in a row recently. Now that I hear that it at least kinda explains dropping off a cliff there. Other than QB and maybe CB, missing onOL recruits is a killer.

I think the conference title game makes this era even more difficult. If the Gophers had made the Big Ten Championship Game in 2014, 2019 or 2022, I don't know if they're beating those Ohio State or Michigan teams.

Best opportunity was during the split championship era and unfortunately Minnesota fell short in 1999 and 2003.

But, we do have a history of national championships so we've got that to keep in our pocket despite everything else. At least that's what I'll hold on to for the rest of my life, knowing that at least we have championships in our history.

Kind of like how the British and French like to remember when they were big deals a century or two ago.
