Gophers 2025 Movement Roster Thread - Transfers, Bowl Opt-Outs, Etc.

I think our inability to run the ball is partially due to the west coast offense. It's just not a scheme I like in college football. I hate the short passing game.

In the college game, with the west coast offense, I don't think anyone is particularly concerned about being beat over the top (keeps the boxes more crowded) and teams don't feel obligated to bring in another DB. We had way too many completions right around the line of scrimmage.

I think the Gophs run the west coast because they have:
#1 an O Line that doesn't play physical at the point of attack in the run game (especially the right side) but could at least get in front of guys for a short time in pass blocking,
#2 wide receivers that couldn't catch contested catches downfield (literally with WI and Maryland at the bottom of the conference),
#3 an injured star running back and number two (although I do like number 7 for the future),
#4 a QB that, while young, appears to have studied, has a quick release, and has touch for the short ball.

In other words, they had to run west coast to fit what they had. Continue to develop the WRs and OL and they might have something.

Still middle of the road B1G ... if we're going to panic it should be offense. kicking field goals ... go look at those team stats.
Fixed it for you. Not only did we see a lot of misses, they were like "in a different time zone" misses.

Hard to know on so few attempts.

I personally prefer the RPO vs west coast. More explosive plays, more stress on defense IMO, and generally fewer plays to score.
Look at the year AK had at Rutgers. Defense was their issue (and sometimes AK turning it over) but they put up a lot of offense.

109 on the roster online currently. 26 walked for senior day. 31 commits as of right now. If we bring in around 20 transfers like last year we probably need around 25 current players to go.
20 transfers seems like a lot.

Should charge a fee for every bad take on this website and use the proceeds to pay for a kicker.
We could get a whole lot more than a kicker with that money!! There are multiple bad takes in most every thread!

Kicker was bad the last two weeks no doubt

But on two of the three kicks the snap was high, in my opinion.

When we ran RPO everyone here bitched about it lol

Just going off of last year, 22 HS recruits, 22 transfers according to 247.
I think it’s determined more by how many choose to transfer out as opposed to how many transfers we’d like to bring in.

Was hoping Lindsey was the first one. Imo it would have made him look like THE Leader of the team.

Interesting and well-researched list. Here are my reactions.

(1) I don't believe Kollack will leave seeing he's burned his redshirt and probably wouldn't garner much interest because he didn't take a snap this year.
Could you please explain how both of these can be true?

Reese Tripp first to go portaling

Thought this could be one on OL. Will be curious where he ends up. Can't imagine P4, but he was behind Johnson and Nelson and others for OG

2025 SOPHOMORE SEASON: Competed against Northwestern State • played at Oregon.

2024 FRESHMAN SEASON: Saw action in one game, as he competed against Rhode Island.

2023: Redshirted • did not see game action.

That's 4 OL out with Marshall, Ray and Nkele. Five coming in for 2026 class all rated = to higher than he was out of HS. NOW COACH THEM UP.
