2025-26 College Football Coach Fired/Hired Thread

I wouldn’t be surprised if MSU kicks Fleck’s tires. Maybe Heather wants to be closer to home. CBS says Pat Fitzgerald is a name attached to the job.

Also hearing Brian Kelly rumors

Who, if you can get over the fact he sent a kid to his death, is a better coach than Fitzgerald

He doesn't deserve the 'Sip. Immature, fired on the tarmac Lane is back. They've given him everything he's needed, but still hasn't won anything. Dysfunctional LSU and Lane are a match made in heaven.
Brother, I would swim up the Mississippi with a 45 pound plate tied to my balls for the gophers to have the season Lane is having.

2019 gophers were 9-0 vs non top 15 teams
1-2 vs top 15 teams

Ole Miss was 10-0 vs non top 15 teams
1-1 vs top 15 teams

Second best win is Tulane

Fitzgerald to MSU is really great news for the rest of the Big Ten.

There are like 5 coaches on this planet that could live up to that delusional admins expectations.

They’ll be doing the same thing 3 years from now.

He'd be ok if he has a descent Offensive Coordinator, maybe Smith can stick around and do that, that's his specialty lol. Wouldn't be surprised if Smith isn't sniffing around that UCLA job, he's a SoCal guy.

Kind of surprised Sparty wanted to take on Fitzgerald’s baggage, given their experiences with Mel Tucker and his sexual harassment allegations, and the sexual assault conviction of Dr Larry Nassar. Fitz was found to be not directly responsible for the hazing at Northwestern, but he did acknowledge that it occurred in his program. I guess the Michigan State board of regents has a higher risk tolerance than most schools.
