We Need a Billionaire!!!!

It's been a strength, but it's been trending downward over the past few years. If players are struggling to perform, it still falls on the OL coach. He's the one identifying and recruiting the players, right? So if we aren't recruiting good players, it's on him. If the players are good players, but are struggling to perform consistently on the field, it's his job to either coach then up or find a way to have them maximize their potential.

And when the same playcall results in radically different performance from the OL, I don't think you can blame the play calling.
It's easier to identify the best players than it is to get them to come to Minneapolis.

Penn St doesn’t have to report their salaries due to state law. We upped our DC’s salary to 1.2 million last January and he still left for Miami. Miami paid $600,000 in a buyout. I’m guessing Collins makes 600-700,000 this year as our DC, PJ has routinely spent under our assistant coaches salary pool.
Why?

No billionaire in his/her right mind would bankroll anything at Minnesota. Recent section on the university website describes “whiteness pandemic” there. In the Culture and Family Lab section. So be surprised if a whiteness pandemic causes a green drought in the giving department. Can’t help recruiting either

I thought there were 12 million stories
Only 11 million now as I’ve left my streaking days behind me.

In my defense, I was tramautized in childhood by this K-Tel records ditty -

in a naked city. I'll need that many friends to get through all of the stories... 🤡

So you're not a Gopher fan nor a fan of the University of Minnesota!

"Badger. Get thee behind me!"

There's an off topic board for you to post your political drivel. Run along now.

It’s not political drivel. I didn’t comment on it’s merits. whether good or bad. I did comment on the possible effect on getting a “whale” for football program donor.

So far I have been accused of being a Badger fan and a tOSU fan on this board. What next? A Husker or Hawkeye fan. No just a football fan who would like to see the Gophers rise above the level of mediocrity that they currently reside at.

You do understand that you can be a football fan without taking shots at the University right? Your complaint has NOTHING to do with football or football boosters. Your rant would possibly have more impact if you e-mailed Dr. Rebecca Cunningham, or the professor directly.

It's Badger week. Focus on Badgers!!!

how much $$$ won't matter if the guy making the decisions screws up.
we are paying 2 OL who are terrible, along with other transfers that can't/don't play.
Legit money will move you into a tier a player that's beyond Marcellious Marshall and Dylan Ray, but yes fit matters, people making the decisions matter, until this year I would say we hit on our portal ads more often than not, so we probably need evaluate what went wrong in that department

I would say it's declining due to recruiting. We didn't hit on a lot of olineman between 2021 and 2023. We have more recruits starting for other P4 teams from that group than we have starting at Minnesota

lol this is one research lab with one manuscript cited less than 30 times. I don't think this is the significant point you think it is

Never gonna happen, especially with the ridiculous woke direction the U has gone. Even if there were a billionaire he probably wouldn't wanna give money to this sh** show. And therefore football and basketball will never compete and now with Canadian players coming and NIL in college hockey, Gopher hockey will struggle to compete, as well.

Do you know how to become an instant millionaire? Marry the farmer's daughter.

If you were a Billionaire and a Gopher football fan would you give any money to this coach, I know I wouldn't.

I've discovered that most people who use the term woke dont even know what it means, nice try though.

I would. He went 12-1 at Western Michigan and has seasons of 11, 9, 9, and 8 wins at Minnesota. I’d be intrigued to see what he does with tons of cash.

But I also know some think he could’ve won even more, so I wouldn’t begrudge a billionaire preferring to invest in a different coach. Different strokes…

And he's 2 games under .500 in conference play.

Well, I’d give it to the team for better coaches, analysts and NIL. For whatever reason it seems Fleck can’t spend the money he has to hire better coaches, and probably analysts too.

The question is why doesn’t he spend the funds promised to him? I think most answers start with Coyle.
