Out of the blue I get a random thread in my reddit feed about some strange goings on and around Sugarloaf in Winona MN.
What piqued my interest was some folks are really scared for family members behind some evidence of unusual and cultish behavior from folks hiking near the site.

There are a lot of caves and tunnels in the area connected with it’s past history.
Anyone else hearing anything?

I'll ask my friend, who has a second home right near its base. Maybe it's him!

I’d be curious to what he has to say.
The tone of what I was reading was inferring some sketchy unsavory types possibly brainwashed or influenced that creeped them out.
One commenter from Colorado hiking the area recently wrote that they would never visit Winona again.

I found the thread you're referencing and I can't tell if people are being serious or just making stuff up. Definitely weird if true though.

I guess it depends on what lens other people see and interpret things.
I did a small bit of research and apparently there have been connections to witchcraft/covens, liquor and drugs in it’s history going back to the 1850’s.
Before that even further in Native American culture.

It’s a joke. You absolute rube.

I won’t recognize this conversation until you use the Dakota name for this geological structure. Chippewa name will also be accepted cuz they kinda owned all of this land until pioneers armed the Dakota and allowed the Chippewa to be pushed out.
