In the Gophers 3 Big Ten loses this season, Minnesota has been out scored 125-19.

Some people don't like to hear it, but this Gophers team is not good. They were lucky to be 6-3, and now they're lucky to be 6-4.

The good news? They'll be older next year.

Don't get me wrong, the story of our DC sleeping at the training facility and working his way up is great.

With that said, his schemes make absolutely zero sense. Deep cover 2 the entire game when they're exploiting open areas in the zone. With 2 minutes left we start rushing three again and give them all the time in the world to march 80 yd and score a quick touchdown. He just doesn't comprehend anything about putting people in the right place based on the opponent.

If we can out athlete the opposing team we have a chance. If we play anybody worth a s***, we are going to get destroyed.

A year older and with a new OC and a new DC, I hope. Vegas was right...this is a 5-7 win team. I don't know if we get to 7 wins now.

You're not being reasonable if you're trying to say something about the team with that road schedule.

Yeah, losing those 3 games with a roster like ours is expected. I would like to see 27-20 type loses versus 40's to 10's and that is the issue.

We are an average team that simply can't compete against the good teams.

What's the solution ?

No f'ing clue.

The solution is obvious, it's just not realistic, nor is it a guarantee. As good of the job as DTA does with grassroots that's all it is and boots on the ground can only take you so far. We need a Messiah and illogical rich guy whose only ROI is going to be winning gopher football games. Maybe there's a gopher fan out there similar to the this guy fucks character on Silicon Valley. IDK

I will admit the awe shucks mentality by Fleck in these blow out losses is annoying. Defeated before they step off the bus.
This game and @ Ohio State were losses the moment the schedules were announced.

That's why I don't get why people are acting so bent out of shape about them.

Cal was unfortunate but we were in the game. Iowa is the one game where I was disappointed in the that we were not competitive. Didn't get to watch that one, which was probably good.

I know this thread is on the Offense but the "catchword" this season for the Defense was "violence."

Here after 10 games there have been flashes of what that could mean but really not realized.

At this point in the season for the D then the word that comes to mind is "outperformed." My expectations are obviously too high, and on the road at least the Offense has given them zero support (see the title of this thread).

That said, win the next two...which is entirely possible...we'll be 8-4 in a season that generates very mixed football emotions. Already told Mrs. Billd likely not doing a bowl game this year.

While I agree a loss is a loss no matter the score, the inability to me remotely competitive with multiple teams is a major red flag, IMO. I do not believe in moral victories or believe in a bad win, but the way in which MN was totally dominated in these three games is embarrassing.

I don't think we should fire the coach, I don't think the team is horrible, but there needs to be some adjustments in players, scheme, and philosophy next season.

The solution is to get better players, plain and simple. And that means institutional support and donors contributing to NIL. Without that there will not be any noticeable improvements in my opinion.

You forgot AND better assistant coaching for said players.

It's "not reasonable" to expect even belonging on the same field? To think the outcome might be mildly in doubt?

These three losses say quite a bit about the team. It's unreasonable to pooh-pooh them off like they don't matter.

PJ's "Tressel Ball" and Pro Style only works with 4 and 5 Stars...if not commit to the Wing-T and play like a service academy.

Let’s see where the last two games go and then the off season. Maybe 10 years is the show me season and limit at MN.
