All Things 2025 Minnesota Vikings In-Season Thread

Big win. Good to have JJM back. Defense deserves a lot of credit.

Packers lost to Carolina at home and Chicago is close to blowing a big lead.

Haha we wouldn’t know what to do with a top pick anyways. Mostly watching at this point to see McCarthy’s progress and he was a plus today
And they may be better than any of us imagine.

There's been more than one team that scuttles in a season and goes on a nice run into the playoffs; NY Giants won SB, after looking very average numerous times in that season.
So, you never know

This week will be the mid point of the season so there's plenty of data. I think there's very little chance they win @Detroit this week.

In order to make the playoffs they will have to get to at least 10 or possibly 11 wins. That means they need to go 7-3 or 8-2 the rest of the way against one of the toughest remaining schedules with essentially a rookie QB and a beat up roster with no depth.

I think it's already over by Halloween.

I disagree.

Not only did the Pack lose, Kraft, their tight end was carted off and LaFleur in the post game said the injury does not look good.

If true, the pack is in trouble.

Chicago should have lost. Bengals Bungled.

Defense gets huge credit today, but McCarthy definitely gets some flowers. Easily the best he has played as a Viking. Prior to this there was very little evidence that he had potential to be a good player for us.

The Lions secondary is decimated.

If McCarthy has time to get the ball out of his hands ... we could pass the ball some today.

Guessing Lions are going to sell out and make McCarthy beat them on offense.

No idea what the hell we're going to do on defense.

I'd blitz a bunch. That used to be Flores thing, that he was known for. Feels like he's gotten away from that?

F it. If you're going to get smoked anyway ... make them sweat it out. Jack around with their protections, all game. Put hits on Goff.
Think I was correct, felt like they blitzed a ton today? And it worked!

Right on track to miss the playoffs and get a mid-round pick
Would pick around 15 as of today.

The top picks are all offensive tackles, wide receivers, and quarterbacks.

Assuming McCarthy is the guy, we could pick a top defensive player.

Terrible red zone offense again. Run the ball and keep the clock going. Brutal.

It ended up not mattering because we got the first down, but Detroit was out of timeout and we just handed them an extra 1:15.

On the other hand, we won, and a future opponent is going to line up against us on a 3rd and 1 and think KOC may just be crazy enough to pass here.

Call me crazy but i got the Vikings beating the Lions today.
Kudos, sir...I will fully admit that I chuckled when I read your post this morning. I still can't believe they pulled it off.

Thoughts on the Powerball #'s for tomorrow night?

S Caleb Downs from OSU is going to be a star but most likely the first defensive player taken. The guy that might be better is CB Mansoor Delane from LSU but he's rising fast.
