We are not good

The 2025 Minnesota Gopher Football team is lucky to have 5 wins, almost gagged away Rutgers and Purdue. Poor Blocking, poor passing, defense is suspect or worse, kicking game is below average. Not much to be optimistic about, and it is all on coaching. Players not good enough, that’s on the coach.
Only thing to be optimistic about is next year. If we can figure out the run game, we have a legit QB that will win games as he matures.

For someone who is smarter than me could Ryerse start playing at the end of the year without burning a redshirt? He is available?
You can play in 4 games without burning a redshirt. Hasn’t played football yet. He did make 5 starts for the baseball team last spring.

When is the last time we got two game deciding calls in our favor to win?
Lindsey was not in the end zone.
It would seem impossible watching each game to finish 8 and 4 but it's certainly somehow possible.

Lindsey was 100 percent in the end zone. The ball was in front of his knee and his knee was across the goal line when he stepped out. Refs got it right. You are really trying too hard to be negative.

Daniel at OSU nothing you can do there, Lewis at Northwestern he’s not very good and McConnell at Vandy we had as the second string center behind 65 who is a year younger ahead of him, and he left. Johnson seems bulletproof since he’s gotten here and I don’t get it.
Probably true on Daniels, but the other guys would have provided some level on continuity. The fact we have three starters who transferred in shows up as the O-line has been terrible.

I don't think you can say with absolute certainty he wasn't in the endzone and if he wasn't in he was on the 1 inch line and would have scored on the next play because even with our struggles on offense they can get a 1 inch tush push.

Has been an odd year but for the most part the team is winning the games it is supposed to even if it isn't always pretty. 8-4/9-4 after the bowl is definitely on the table.

I thought he was in too, but the key was the touchdown call on the field. Likely to have not gotten overturned had been called out.

What I don’t get certainly don’t have boots on the ground, but we have some fairly highly rated kids that have been riding pine now for two, three and four years. Did they all fizzle or do we have some sort of predilection to play the transfers? I’d certainly like to see Nelson get some run. He looks the part and there are others as well. I think I counted the OL yesterday on the roster and there’s 15 give or take.

I have the same exact thoughts. Wisconsin and Iowa were the models when Fleck took over here. Their model then was recruit O-linemen, get them into the system, and then have a plug-and-play mentality. Things have gone south at Wisconsin with the change in approach and it's important to remember that guys can transfer at will now, but I think the best teams really work to have long-term continuity on the O-line. The big kid from Washington was greeted happily when he transferred in, but has he seen the field very much?

Next year's schedule steps up in difficulty. Road games at Indiana, Washington, & Penn State. Michigan and Iowa in Minneapolis.
Penn state currently in last place
Indiana no different @ Ohio State
Washington no different than @ Iowa

I fail to see how it’s diffeeent

The home schedule is harder. Not the road schedule

I think he was probably in, but why TF was he even that close to OB? Angle back in towards the middle of the field, not even close.

Penn State will always have one of the most talented rosters in the B1G. 2026 will be no different.

If they get a good coach they'll be very good.

In the recap of yesterday's games, the All-Big-Ten site, Off Tackle Empire, gave this amusing summary:

As is tradition, Minnesota did the absolute bare minimum to get the win, and they got the win.

Disagree on bold. Not sure how you arrive at that one

They have the same exact record
Iowa is 4-1 and Washington is 3-2. Iowa has slightly better wins, in my opinion, and their only loss was close to Indiana while Washington was not competitive with Ohio State and Mich. I don't think they're the same.
