Do Maryland and/or Wisconsin fire their coaches at the end of the season ?

Add in Penn State to those 2 and I am betting that the lure of Brian Kelly & Bill Napier could be enough to pull the trigger.

I am not a fan of Brian Kelly going to Wisconsin as I think he would turn that ship around in 1 season.

His attitude probably does fit their culture.

I think based on available jobs, Kelly wouldn't consider either as destinations. Can Wisconsin afford Kelly if they eat Fickell's buyout anyways?

With LSU, Penn State, Florida, and potentially FSU open (and maybe more), I’d be very hesitant as a mid-level P4 team about firing my coach this season, unless you already have your guy lined up.

Lots of fierce competition from deep pockets at helmet schools for the top coaching talent this year.

I do not understand why people want Kelly, universally loathed everywhere he's been and in this era it hurts more. Had success pre-ish NIL at Notre Dame and Cincinnati but crap at LSU and, per all reports, an absolutely horseshit human being. I don't think he gets one of the big jobs.

Fickell has more to do with internal politics than if he should be fired. I think most would say this is frost part two with a different red team.
His future being tied to AD’s may give him another year

Maryland is pretty cut and dry I think. I have a hard time seeing him fired if they make a bowl and a hard time seeing him brought back if they don’t.
They’re 4-3 with Indiana, @rutgers, @ Illinois, Michigan, @ Michigan state.
I think they beat MSU and one of the other 3 and he survives

Michigan state I gotta think gives him one more year but you never know.

Penn state already got rid of Franklin

Ferentz retiring is next most likely to me.
Northwestern guy has done enough to be off the hot seat.
Purdue guy is year 1.

I think at a lot of places Schiano would be on hot seat but I think they know he’s behind on NIL and they worry about becoming Purdue again like they were before Schiano came back

If I'm Penn State, I go after Jeff Brohm hard. He's a Louisville guy, but a few million more a year in compensation including for assistants and a better recruiting pool could matter. After that? Who knows.

Kelly is rumored not even know the names of many of the players on this year’s LSU team. Might be checked out or over the hill now, except for reputation. He’s leaving with $50M being stuck in his pocket, Might just decide to hang it up?

Brohm is really good. If he had the money to bring in a top 10 DC in the country he could be elite

The only thing I’ll say. A play caller has won like one national title in 30 years or something like that

Kelly is a major asshole but he can coach. I would not like if he ended up in Madison.

Spurrier or Bowden maybe? I believe Day gave up play calling duties last year. Urban Meyer was very innovative on offense but usually had someone calling plays.
