Fine. Sucker some other team into that deal. His choice will be to retire or play for the veteran minimum unless Falvey falls for it.
The number comes from the article I posted on it, mss as king the comp between him and Austin Hedges, another veteran backup who had a $4M salary last season.

Obviously they should sign him to as low as possible, but a decent defender who hits .200 or less isn’t likely going to be had for league minimum.

Hedges isn't worth $4 million either. Ridiculous. Pereda was better than Vazquez and he was making the minimum.

$30 million over 3 years to produce a negative net WAR.
 








This is a stretch, but I'm wondering if anyone remembers who the umpire was from probably the 1980s - 1990s who, when calling strike 1 or 2, used to raised his arm straight up in the air and make what appeared to be draing a cursive capital H with his hand?
