All Things 2025-26 Other College Basketball Games Thread

Illinois has an exhibition Sunday against Illinois State. ISU is picked to win the MVC.

Illinois will be playing without three starters. Petrovic is still waiting on clearance by NCAA. Expected soon like Tomislav Ivisic last season. Ivisic had his tonsils out last week and is questionable. No need to rush him. Same with Stoyakovic. Had a minor knee sprain a few weeks ago and they are being careful. He averaged 18 at Cal last season.

Have no idea what to expect Sunday.

Drake beat Wichita State at Wichita 68-62 in their exhibition. From what I heard they played mostly the bench in the 2nd half and still held on after looking really good in the first half with a 14 point advantage. Can’t help but think they’re the team to beat until otherwise based on history of the coach not mattering in recent years. Crazy to say.

is this the slovak national team?

The Racers are a tough team to beat on any given day. Odd take that the world is ending when losing an exhibition game, especially considering THE POST BEFORE references the day to day nature of College Basketball. Anybody can beat anybody.

Dayton handled Penn St pretty easily today:

Go Gophers!!

Don’t forget 6-9 David Mirkovic (Montenegro) who had 19 points 14 rebounds and 6 assists in the 92-65 exhibition win over ISU. Also Z Ivisic, Tomislav’s 7-2 twin who had 15. So there are actually 5 with Serbian background. Stoyakovic’s dad was an NBA all star so he has lived almost his whole life in the USA.

Winthrop defeats Queens in the opening game of the 'Field of 68' Opening Day Marathon. It's no 24 hour marathon like we used to have.....but basketball kicking off at 7:00a.m. CT is good enough.

St. Bonaventure beat Bradley 69-63.

Frank Mitchell came off the bench for St. Bony and had 12 points, 9 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 3 turnovers. He did make 2 of his 3 free throws.

I wish we had been able to keep him especially since Turner played a grand total of 2 minutes in two exhibition games.

Some of these early season games are almost surreal. Prairie View currently is leading the College of Biblical Studies, an institution with an enrollment of 460.

I'm watching Radford v. Western Illinois on ESPN+. Saw Rigsby for a few minutes. He doesn't start for them and has a line of all zeros with about 4 minutes left in the first half.

Bethune-Cookman gave Auburn everything they had. Played the Tigers even up to the last minute.
