This game will depend on the secondary and the DL. I expect our offense will be able to move the ball, and that if we get a lead, we'll turtle and hope to win. If we can get a few stops against Purdue, that should be enough.
I was at the 59 - 56 victory over Purdue at the dome in 1993. The precursor to the Joe Tiller "basketball on grass era".
This game was "tennis on grass" - defenses optional.
A game that featured 8 TDs per team and one Field Goal with 8 seconds left to win the game.
There were 1,184 yards gained in that game in total.
The teams combined to average 7.5 yards per play (7.8 for the Gophers, 7.2 for the BMs)
And combined to score every 9.1 plays.........(hence it was like watching a tennis match back and forth/back and forth)
The Gophers 84th ranked defensive stop rate and Purdue's 127th ranked defensive stop rate has me thinking there is a chance at a repeat! (not really).
